  1. they should do that for the munich gig too... good luck to all the belgians who are trying to get tickets!
  2. or maybe it just came from the ones who bullied him. i was bullied about my nose at school so i came to think it was ugly. meanwhile i see it in a realistic way and wonder how i could ever believe the things they said! and about the gay mags, yeah, i was glad that it lay around openly and i didn't have to ask for it at the counter - i mean, how does a woman explain why she wants a mens gay mag?!
  3. well, he always said he was chubby as a boy, didn't he? maybe they just translated it with "fat", who knows...
  4. in this months' issue of german gay magazine "Männer" there's a one-page interview (plus one-page pic) with mika. i didn't buy it though, as i don't wanna pay 8 euro just for those 2 pages... so no scans, sorry. i read the interview in the shop though, so i can tell you a bit about it. it's by the same interviewer as this one: http://www.mikafanclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=19254 and starts similar, interviewer arriving at mika's house, mum opening door, mika living in basement. iirc the first question was about the new album, something like what was his intention with it, answer is nothing new, the usual "teenage years" and "good pop music" thing. then they asked whether he was an outsider at school, also the usual answer, plus this bit, which was quoted on several websites: http://www.bild.de/BILD/unterhaltung/telegramm/unterhaltungs-telegramm,rendertext=9540146.html translation: i was on different boys' schools and those are especially cruel places for people like me. i was fat, i dressed weirdly, had a high voice and gestured with my hands in a, let's say, quite gay way. so for the others i was the fat, gay boy, the demon they had to defeat. today i can laugh about it, but back then the humiliations were horrible. in the magazine interview i remember he also said that he liked singing instead of sports, as another reason why they bullied him. then in the interview there came 2 questions+answers which were the same like in the other interview, the one about why he doesn't say whether he's gay and the one about his love life. they asked whether there were usually paparazzi in front of his house and he said there used to be many and his family wasn't happy about it at all, but since he's never at home anyway, meanwhile the paparazzi gave up. the last question was whether he sees himself as an icon for the outsiders and he said naah, rather as an icon for the ones who still live in their parents' basement. btw, the picture is of mika on a yellow donald duck bike.
  5. pfft, and to us they say it's only for ppl from bavaria! hmm, maybe we should write to universal germany, so they can give us some tix for the mfc?
  6. hmm, what about your tweet @ mika about serving germany the nice way? made me lol!
  7. damn, so i don't just love the melody, but also the lyrics... will see how it goes on, but these few lines are something i can totally identify with at the moment, like he has written them bout my life. wasn't able to understand much of the lyrics, so thanx for posting this! and thanx to vs for starting this thread. the song is currently my fave of all the new ones.
  8. about the questions about "nice" and "darling"... the latter could've been any similar word like "hun" or "love", which they couldn't find a better translation for than "darling". maybe he uses words like this when the interviewer is someone you'd call that, sweet, petite, maybe a bit shy... that's only my interpretation though. and the "i did it the nice way" - the way they translated it into german, it could've also been something like "dear"/"endearing" instead of "nice". well, we'll never know what word he in fact used...
  9. aah damn, i wanna go, but it's so much money! does anyone know more about the venue, how big is it and is it seated? how are the temperatues around that time in LA, is it still warm enough to lie on the beach + bath in the sea? (looking for more reasons to go... )
  10. damn, was thinking more of grand canyon and san francisco, but just saw that oakland is right next to SF don't tempt me. @lollipop monkey, i defo. want to go to LA+rest of california one day, it's just a question of now or on another future mika tour.
  11. *considers holiday in LA* i'd have time, it's only a question of money and of who would join me for the whole holiday (as of course i'd want to see more of california than just the mika gig venue )
  12. as i had expected, br3 won't give us tickets. well, so we have to rely on our luck...
  13. ah that one! thanx! i had completely forgotten about it, but now that you mention it, i remember wondering about the song too when i first saw that interview, as it sounded so beautiful. on some thread back then we were wondering whether it was a cover version or not.
  14. don't know what exactly we'd do, but i'd want to show him a bit of my world, and would want him to show me a bit of his, so we'd both get a bit of an insight in each others lifes. and in the evening go clubbing, have a drink, dance, and party til the morning (and concerning the dance bit, i'm off to the naugthy corner *thinks of sweet dreams*... ).
  15. you knew that song before we heard the album clippings? damn, i thought i knew all the not-to-be-discussed-songs. caz, i love what you wrote in your first post. but guess i agree with violet, that it might be better if he doesn't know or at least doesn't think much about those things, as it would probably change him.
  16. i also hate the trance/house/electro sound. dance is ok to a certain extent, as long as the melody is still the main thing, and not the computer sounds. i don't like 99% of any remixes i've ever heard (not just mika, but of any artist), there's only a very small amount where i'd say, ok, this is still the song i like, but better for dancing in a club. i prefer dancing to 80s sounds in a club instead of umph-umph club sounds. about rain, i also was disappointed at first, i loved the acoustic, slow live version of last year. still, what he made of it now is fine to me too, it's a bit the style of relax - but of relax i also prefer the acoustic slow version. i just hope he'll once release the old live version as a b-side, so i can listen to both versions in good quality.
  17. and you're absolutely right with that - mika always wants us to be creative, but he should be a bit more creative with his swear words himself, instead of always using the same word, lol!
  18. first thing that sprang into my ear when hearing a song is that it's a perfect cha-cha. i hope it will be a single, then i can dance to it in my courses.
  19. more of the song on amazon.de: http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B002M7Y3GQ/ref=sr_1_album_21_rd?ie=UTF8&child=B002M7U3B0&qid=1250985354&sr=1-21 - it's not only parts from "i'm falling"; the complete verse is like we already know it!
  20. there are now also song clips on amazon.de, some are different from the ones i've heard so far. http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B002M7Y3GQ/ref=sr_1_album_21_rd?ie=UTF8&child=B002M7U3B0&qid=1250985354&sr=1-21
  21. We are Golden is a single anyway... Blame it on the Girls Dr John Good Gone Girl Touches You One Foot Boy Pick up off the Floor are the other ones I'd like as singles, but don't think he'll release dr john as a single, probably also not GGG and One Foot Boy. Instead it'll probably be rain and i see you - the latter sounding like a good christmas single. so the singles that seem most likely to me are: Blame it on the Girls Rain I see you Touches You and maybe Pick up off the Floor - it sounds different, but i still can imagine it as a single.
  22. mika super fan wrote to br3 again and asked them whether people outside of bavaria could take part in the competition and they answered no. well, so here we go again with the "who's allowed to apply" topic, just with bavaria vs. the rest of germany - typical for bavaria i'd say, to see themselves as a country of their own. i've written to them too and asked for 20 tickets for the german mika fan club (includes the german mfcers too of course, i just thought in this case it'd be better to ask in the name of the munich-based german fan club, not the international one...) - don't have much hope but thought i could at least ask. will let you know when they answer.
