    As far as I'm aware the cause of dyslexia symptoms aren't a criteria for a diagnosis. It doesn't matter if the dyslexia was worsened (or possibly even caused) by something else, you are still dyslexic. There's no such thing as "untrue dyslexia" because if you have dyslexia symptoms, you are dyslexic. Mika himself says that he has dyslexia so he obviously does. Sorry, I didn't mean to start a big discussion, just wanted to clear that up

    This is so fascinating to me! I study educational and developmental psychology. I've never really heard of children who are able to read and write "normally" and later become dyslexic and unlearn it. There are studies that suggest that there might be some sort of correlation between dyslexia symptoms and trauma. I'd be very interested to know if Mika was or would be able to re-learn to read music. If he still isn't, I would also be very interested to know how the hell you compose a whole score for a movie without being able to write it down.

    Yeah that's exactly what I do as well! And Lollipop is an easy one, it only has three chords If you want to play it in the original key it's C#, F#, G#. On guitar it's obviously much easier to put a capo on the first fret.

    Hello! There was a little discussion started in the comments of the insta live today about how to play some of Mika songs so I thought it might be a good idea to revive this thread. I've tried playing quite a few of his songs with a mix of online chords and my ear. Would love to see more people exchange and combine their knowledge

    I think he meant he feels like a teenager who goes out for the night clubbing without telling his parents. Not running away from home I'm surprised he's talking so positively about online gigs now too, wasn't he the one complaining the most at the beginning of covid?! But he is very good at reinventing things and going with the times which I think is part of why he's so successful with all age groups. Was his IG account managed by someone else at some point in the past? I thought I remembered him saying that in an interview once? But I think it was in Italian so maybe I misunderstood.

    Alternatively you could use a vpn. That's always my go to for watching things abroad. For most of them you have to pay but you often get a trial period where you can use them for free. I use NordVPN for example which is working well for me

    I just had an idea which is #lovelovemika I don't think that hashtag has been used for anything not-our-mika-related. Not sure if it looks a bit weird though, maybe it sounded better in my head

    Hello I have a very similar experience of (re)discovering Mika after Eurovision!! I think the whole continent of Europe was enthralled by that performance. And I can't stop singing his songs either. My piano playing has improved so much and for me it's a workout for my deeper register since I'm a soprano I've enjoyed rambling on here as well, so I hope you have fun too!

    I read it in a German interview recently. He says "It happened when I had just released my first album. You know what I did then? (grins) I took 2000 pounds of the money the record company had given me. I used it to print extra posters of my album. Then I stuck them on every possible surface around the house of that person (laughs). I always do stuff like that." I haven't seen a video of him talking about it unfortunately!

    I finally decided to write a little report since it was my first Mika concert and a very special day indeed! I took my best friend who was not a Mika fan (yet!) so I thought making her wait in line all day is a bit much. We ended up quite far in the back but the view was really good and we were very happy there. The concert itself was just phenomenal!! He was radiating energy into every little corner of that theatre and the entire audience was completely engaged from start to finish. I can confirm what @Presci1108 said about the atmosphere being incredible, everyone was having so much fun. And he seemed really touched at the end. I also thought the reactions of my friend, who had only heard a few of his songs but never seen him, were hilarious. We were like two songs in when she said "Im a fan too now" and afterwards she kept saying how positively surprised she was and how she loved his "freaky dancing" I'll add a couple short videos too just so you can get an impression of what it was like from that perspective: 278c1634-13da-47d1-af98-1c95063e0a43.MP4 bde41aea-4405-4343-8493-e0fbecbfa67c.MP4 Also what was that octave jump during Love Today when he sings "now you know she's getting something other than the love from her mother"??     All good, maybe we'll meet another time! No don't worry, we were fine with our school french, english and hands and feet Will definitely brush up on my french though before hopefully coming back next year so I can understand Mika better.
