I believe in freedom of expression...and ART above all things. But at the same time, the content that some chose to write about is way out of line for young fanclub members and indeed MIKA if he feels "violated" by what is written. Though my personal opinion is that he wouldn't. I mean he is friends with Perez Hilton ... On the other hand, I think many forget that writing is an art form... and to have something go from ones imagination to other peoples minds is really a vulnerable thing. I have no need/willingness to read it, and I don't like to read it either. But I just don't open threads like that... I think it's a good idea to have a seperate thread with all the fanfics...only if it doesn't eventually go into eroticism and soft porn fantasy. There's two sides....I think it's okay to write them and then it isn't... in the right context that is. To me if you do have thoughts/fantasies/daydreams about Mika then they are personal secret/sacred to you.(because he is famous) I wouldn't think you would want him to read them if he does come across some. And then if you do meet him and he looks at you like this. (It's a small world)...as they say. I'm not going to mention any names but from experience....one famous singer did find it very offensive on one his forums...about what my friend wrote about him and such. I believe that Fanfics should be allowed but on the first post it should be clearly stated that it is only fiction and that it should not be too... deep, if you understand what I'm getting at. Myself, I'm a PPRC writer and I enjoy writing, but Mika is just a character. Just as the rest of them, except, obviously it is based on him. But we do respect him, and would put anything about him we wouldn't want to read/write about ourselves. If everyone stuck to that, I think it should be allowed. That way the reader can imagine any man they like and not just Mika. That way I'm sure Mika would feel more comfortable about the situation if he were ever uncomfortable about it in the first place. She didn't have to read your fanfic. If she read a bit and didnt like it she could have just turned away. Constructive critisicm should always be welcomed, but not attack. That's why I always read all of her posts, because how well she writes them. In my opinion she's probably the best writer on here, at least in her posts anyway. I dunno..... Please don't start it again:shocked: I was just forgetting about it all. Yes they were fanfics and no, it wasn't the intention to hurt Mika in any way and no, we didn't want Mika to know about them in the end and well, I couldn't help it that the thread enjoyed so much fame.. I do agree though, I myself got a little carried away in my days of stuck on a desert island, but I do admit really I got wrapped up in it all, and then I realised, and stopped, I based the character to be more of a jack from lost kind of guy though. I think as long as it is harmless, it should be ok, I dont get the differnce between say writing a fanfic with "mika" as a character, and writing a song, about the man! there is very little difference, im pretty sure the regular, youngling friendly fanfics are the way to go, if he can write a song about us and exagerate it a little, not that any of the characters he would make up would suit any one of us personally as the indevidual, but he still could use names, I dont find that any differnt to writing fanfic!
