Kath - you are a really sweet lady (and I want the recipe for the truffle things!!!) SShhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Don't tell EVERYBODY about the truffles! To be honest..the truffles just about deserve a thread to theirselves! I got the recipe years ago....they look like mini Chocolate Christmas puddings...they have rasins, cherries, nuts and crushed up digestive biscuits in, bound together with melted chocolate, golden syrup and butter. They are iced with white chocolate which looks like the brandy sauce. They are yummy yummy yummy! Great to see you back Wendi...and I love the sunglasses! Hi Shari - turn the brightness of the computer down, wear dark glasses (or get one of those screen covers that stop glare) and dont move your head too quickly after reading pages etc The dizzyness I have though is controlled by tablets now. Shari
Thanks for that Wendi. I hear you loved the gift book, flowers and truffles! See how much people think of you. How is your mouth now after the dentist? I have been thinking of you as I know what being afraid of the D is all about.
Wendi
Thanks for that Wendi. I hear you loved the gift book, flowers and truffles! See how much people think of you.How is your mouth now after the dentist? I have been thinking of you as I know what being afraid of the D is all about. Everone was so kind - the book is beside my bed, the flowers are still i a vase on my table, and this thread was such a kind thought!!! I still cant eat properly, and sneezing or coughing is a night-mare as they shoot out!!! What bothers me most is I still cant play my trumpet or saxophone I have a few things coming up when I need to play, but its far too painful, The dentist said 6 months - but I will NEED to go back before then or I will lose too much weight. There is only so much porridge, soup and custard that one person can eat!!! Kaths truffles were lovely, and it took me ages to suck them to death - but my gums are so painful afterwards!!!!! Shari
Oh I totally feel for you Wendi. It must be awful living on porridge, but it will be good for your cholesterol! You don't want to be practising trumpet or sax if it's too painful. Give your gums a chance to heal. No chance of miming I suppose?

Its just very frustrating - but probably good for my head. I cant imagine what the noise of them would do to my head!!!
Shari
I'm sure you know your limitations Wendi. Be good and I hope feeling 100% comes sooner rather than later. Take care

kath
The forum is an addiction for us all. Who needs TV? Yes!! I´m really looking forward to it!! Oh No! I didn't realise that we had to put up with Queenie in London! I might cancel! Queenie..my dear! I am absolutly DELIGHTED that I will get to see you again so soon! Yes Wendi...I was aware that the truffles may be a little difficult for you..I am glad that you managed them...and didn't have to share! OK.....here is the recipe...will put it on here then anyone else can have a go at making them if they fancy it...but I warn you...once you have made them once there is no turning back! CHOCOLATE CHRISTMAS PUDDINGS 75g butter 100g plain chocolate 100g plain buicuits, finely crushed (digestives are best!) 25g hazelnuts (I don't usually bother with these) 25g glace cherries chopped 50g raisins few drops of rum essence (optional) 2 tablespoons of golden syrup 50 g white choc place butter and choc in saucepan over low heat and stir until melted. stir in all other ingredients apart from white choc. Chil in fridge for about 20 mins divide into about 20 pieces and spoon into small truffle (petit four) cases. Put back in fridge. Melt white choc and drizzle over to look like brandy sauce. You are supposed to use ready roll icing to cut of mini holly leaves and berries but you need a very small leaf cutter and I don't always get around to that bit. Enjoy!
