Is that the rule?

If you guys get in the frontrow...

So you mean i should sit on Mika's lap at gigs?:mf_rosetinted:

Yes, you shall have your very own seat on the piano:mf_rosetinted:

I wasn't front row in Milan. At all. The front rows were too noisy anyway from where I was. I'm sorry. I'm a patient person - with a few exceptions :naughty: - and I enjoyed the gig, but I can imagine that some people may not put up with that.

Congratulations! You've promovated yourself to the category: Sane Person:roftl:

Actually, I consider myself much saner in RL than many people who might have been behind me at gigs when I was at the front :naughty:.

Now seriously though, a gig is a place to have fun, get yourself lost in the show, enjoy the music, try to connect with the performer and have a good time with the rest of people who are there with you.

Everyone that goes there has one goal: to enjoy the music and to have fun. Why can't we all just do that, and forget bout this pettiness? Of course one will get pushed around and people will make noise; That's how it goes. If it really annoys you at the time you could try telling people to shut up (within reason, if they are screaming like their head is being chopped off during a quiet song, like these drunken crazies behind us in NYC at the Poission Rouge who kept screaming through the quiet Relax and Mika could not be heard). If people are doing the "normal" amount of singing, etc, then that is just the way concerts are.

This actually adds to the atmosphere, because otherwise there would be no difference from watching the DVD at home, really.

Regarding the video cameras, I know that some people hold them up in front of others' noses, but I also want to point out to Bernard that many people hold their hands up without a camera and just block your view anyway. Or they are simply taller. Or they have really fluffy hair. Etc, etc, etc... There are a million things that can irritate you at a gig when you have people in front of you, and you just need to either do what you can in order to minimise these (like, try your best to be at the front) or just put up with them.

May I also add that, as an avid video recorder myself, I ALWAYS hold the camera low right in front of my body, because I tend to be at the front and I make a conscious effort to not block anyone's view. I can 100% percent guarantee that I have never blocked people's view at a gig by filming, and that in fact others have blocked my view far more without actually them filming, so the generalisation that dear iBernard made about the 'youtube filmers' was quite radical and inaccurate.

Anyway, changing subject, I'm really enjoying the reports and pics and vids, so please keep them coming!!! NY always seems to be an enjoyable gig for Mika, I wonder if it's because of his extended family, etc...

Lovely pictures!:thumb_yello:

Especially the ones with the stage in full colour and the close up on the tea pot with the little doll hanging there, is that the Mini-Mika everybody is it referring to?:wink2:

Exactly! Life happens and when you've got a lot of life in place well...

Being 6 foot 1 inch, I try to be polite and like I did in Philly, I stopped walking through the crowd when I got to someone closer to my size behind me.

There is still only so much I can do. :biggrin2:

Not a lot of people were dancing near me, doesn't mean I'm not going to dance. I paid the same money as other people I'm going to enjoy it the way I want to enjoy it and I can do without being a jerk.

You enjoy what you can, when you can or else you'll be miserable everywhere.

Honestly, Bernie to be so out of touch with the reality of the situation is really absurd. Did yo really think that people were going to be sitting and tapping there feet? Did you ever check YouTube for Mika concerts?

I'd love to read this guys blog but I sort of have a feeling that it would be more of a complaint blog about how everyone else is doing everything wrong.

Take responsibility for your own happiness.

I'd love to know how people knocked you out of your seat and that it took you an hour to get back. For as cranky as security was two of the men working my section were FAIR. I was BB 12, 10 & 6.

I had to deal with security and show them someone was in my seat, I was respectful to the man, showed him my ticket and he took care of it straight away. This was during the concert not before hand.

Whinny little man you are Bernie.

OK, guys, I'd like to stop the Bernie Bashing in this thread and move on :thumb_yello:

We can all live and let live, right? Please? :blush-anim-cl:

I'm still waiting to hear from Vero and Danie and Claudine and a good number

of others about their experiences at this gig -- and I expect some

photos or videos from cheeseygoodness? I didn't miss those, did I?

BTW, just found some professional photos of the show online here:

i think cassiopée did post something in this thread though.

Thanks, they're really good! The photographs were a bit distracting and they stayed for an anormal long time but it worthed it :wub2:

You're right -- normally they stay for the first few songs and leave, but I think

a couple of them stayed for most of the show! Well, I know the photographer

for US was a Mika fan himself, so that shouldn't have surprised me. :biggrin2:

Those pics are fab, thanks Deb. Can't tell the difference between these concerts anymore, but it's a good thing I guess. Feel like I was there even when I wasn't! :roftl:

Yeah, I don't know if that's a good thing or not... Mika clearly wants everyone

to have almost exactly the same experience, to the point where you *can't*

tell which show it was by looking at the photos. The costumes are the same,

the lighting, the set... it's like, if you've seen one, you've seen 'em all.

Well, OK, not really -- I mean, MIKA'S different every time, the crowd, the

venue, the vibe is different... but still...
