Lebanese-born, French and English-raised oddball Mika currently has his leg in a brace after tearing two tendons in his foot. "It was at the biggest gig we'd ever done in LA," says the 26-year-old. "I got everyone to go down on the floor and said, 'On the count of three, jump!'. And, of course, the only fool that got hurt was me. I was in so much pain I went offstage and vomited. But I have a history of these things - I think it's normal for anyone that does this." Following the all-conquering poptastic success of Life In Cartoon Motion, reaction to the follow-up has been mixed, but Mika's used to being loved and loathed in equal measure. For now though, he's looking forward to getting the brace off his leg and having a celebration. So what is a Mika party like? "It involves drinking, cutting your own hair and," he says, "waking up in the back of a Vauxhall Astra with four random people." Ouch!
