Prisca
Swiss National Day today. That's why there's a 1st August brunch for everyone (@TinyLove_CJ can have some of it after she has cleaned the windows, she knows what I'm talking about ): I think that should be enough. En Guete! if you don't understand "En Guete", have a look at the video . 3

It's also my wedding anniversary My husband remembered it for the first time since we got married well he didn't know if it was today or tomorrow Not that he planned anything but he was watching internet and he saw people saying they got married in August which reminded him he might have too We don't celebrate anyway but that food comes in handy because I don't feel like cooking today. Do you deliver? Happy national day to you Prisca Edited August 1, 2021 by crazyaboutmika 2

TinyLove_CJ
Swiss National Day and it's also Yorkshire Day! (Where I'm from!) Can't believe I forgot. To celebrate God's own Country here is our national dish, Yorkshire puddings! And if you're feeling extra fancy why not try a Yorkshire pudding wrap? It's basically a whole Sunday roast inside a Yorkshire pudding! and for dessert an ice cream filled Yorkshire pudding with chocolate sauce! 2

I always thought “en guete” was written “a guette”, good to know the correct spelling (which also helps with pronunciation… most of the times, but not always ) Had my first homemade Yorkshire pudding last Christmas! They are scrumptious, can be eaten both sweet and savoury, right? @Heroand @TinyLove_CJ? I had mine with the gravy, since it was a roast dinner (yes that was my first ever roast dinner, I was STUFFED let me tell you!!) 3

I guess you can write it however you want.

A Yorkshire pudding mix is pretty much the same as a pancake mix so eating them as a sweet treat isn't really that strange. 12 hours ago, silver said: Dessert = parkin Love parkin! It's becoming harder to find though where I live 🙁 Love it as a cake or a biscuit, here are some traditional Yorkshire parkin pigs! and Yorkshire Brack cake! This. You can have it with Golden Syrup, or with jam, or fruit, just like any pancake topping. 1 hour ago, TinyLove_CJ said: Love parkin! The Cooplands bakers in town sell it, usually in packs of 4 squares. Are those not gingerbread piggies? Very cute. 1 hour ago, TinyLove_CJ said: and Yorkshire Brack cake! They've always been called parkin pigs to me 😅. There is another local shop near me that sell giant parkin "cookies", but I guess there just giant ginger biscuits.
