That was amazing!  I'm actually watching - thought my free trial proxy would throw me out after a few minutes, but it's like with The Piano - as long as I don't stop the video it keeps playing, seems the website only checks at the beginning whether you're in France. I like the energy of the show, Mika is right, it's different. It feels more about empathy and connection than about competition (so far... I'm sure the competition will come in the next rounds). Just that there's so many commercials and all the things they keep repeating after the commercials and some camera views (like when they showed one guy only blurred at the beginning of his performance) are bothering me, but that has nothing to do with the coaches or the talents.

Stunning performance of the guy with OMS   Usually covering a Mika song it's never a good idea, but this time it was amazing. He added so many layers and new details to the song, really impressive!

Quelle ouverture de saison ! Nos 4 coachs vont ouvrir le bal des auditions à l'aveugle demain avec une reprise de M alias Matthieu Chedid "Je dis aime". Vianney, à la guitare. Zazie et Mika au piano et Oli à la trompette. Et c'est magnifique !

  Just got round to listening to Gabriel's rendition of OMS, and I don't often say this about other people singing Mika covers but MY WORD THAT WAS STUNNING!

   That boy sure can sing! It will be interesting to see how far he goes in the competition!

 

  I will always prefer Mika's version (obviously) but Gabriel really added something else to that!

Just watched it all, that was fantastic!!  Great talents, good format, and the coaches have great rapport. I think the coaches group song was one of the best I've heard on The Voice, real synergy and energy coming through! Oh, I can't wait for next week, I'm going to watch it again!

"Moi, je ne t’ai pas oublié" : surprise lors des premières auditions à l'aveugle dans The Voice

 

"Un très bon cru". Voilà comment Matthieu Grelier, directeur des programmes chez ITV Studios France, qualifie la treizième saison de The Voice, la plus belle voix qui a démarré ce samedi soir sur TF1. Même si ce lancement a été le plus bas de l'histoire du télécrochet en termes d'audiences (4,09 millions de Français, 21,7 % parts de marché), la première audition à l'aveugle a mis tout le monde d'accord avec plusieurs prestations qui ont fait buzzer les quatre coachs.

 

Franco-portuguais installé à Londres depuis 4 ans, Gabriel Lobao fait partie des talents à avoir fait sensation dans le télécrochet. Encouragé par sa famille présente dans les coulisses, le jeune homme de 25 ans, qui rêve de voir sa propre comédie musicale en haut de l'affiche, a donné le ton en arrivant sur scène avec un style qui se rapproche beaucoup de celui de Mika. Le talent ne s'est d'ailleurs pas contenté de copier le look du coach emblématique de The Voice, la plus belle voix. Il a également choisi d'en interpréter l'un des titres, à savoir Over my shoulder.

 

Dès les premières secondes, la voix de l'artiste surprend et motive les quatre coachs à appuyer sur le buzzeur. Et l'étonnement continue jusqu'à la fin de la prestation.

 

"C'était très beau", lance d'emblée Mika après la dernière note.

"La chanson honnêtement, elle n'est pas évidente, continue-t-il. J'adore le fait que tu aies déchiré ma chanson. Littéralement, tu l'as coupée en 150 morceaux. T'as complètement oublié que c'était moi et c'était pas important que ça soit moi. Et ça s'entendait. T'as transformé la chanson en quelque chose de totalement différent. Ça fait sortir dans la deuxième partie un côté beaucoup plus torturé, une âme un peu plus rock. Il n'y a rien de plus délicieux. Il n'y a rien qui m'amuse plus que de m'oublier complètement dans ma propre chanson et pour ça je te remercie énormément."

 

"Merci. Moi, je t'ai pas oublié", répond alors Gabriel Lobao. Des propos qui ont fait comprendre aux autres coachs que le choix du talent était déjà fait. "On va garder une dignité", dit Big Flo en proposant à ses camarades d'aller s'asseoir dans le public. "On veut bien argumenter mais on a l'impression que tu as déjà choisi", lance Zazie au candidat.

 

Resté seul sur le plateau, Mika s'amuse : "Vous vous rendez compte de ce que vous faites ? S'il ne me choisit pas, c'est la honte pour le reste de ma carrière !"

 

Et, c'est évidemment sans surprise que Gabriel a décidé de rejoindre l'équipe de l'interprète de Relax, take it easy. "C'était le pire suspens que j'ai vu de ma vie à la télé", ironise Big Flo face à la caméra.

 

Une fois Gabriel Lobao retourné en coulisses, Mika a continué à vanter les compétences de son talent. "Il a une brave aura quand il est sur la scène et ça, c'est bien parce que cette fragilité-là avec ce talent-là, le potentiel est immense."

It brings out in the second part a much more tortured side, a slightly more rock soul . There is nothing more delicious. There is nothing that amuses me more than forgetting myself completely in my own song and for that I thank you enormously."

 

“Thank you. I haven’t forgotten you,” Gabriel Lobao responds. Words which made other coaches understand that the choice of talent had already been made. “We’re going to maintain some dignity,” said Big Flo, suggesting to his comrades that they go and sit in the audience. “We want to argue but we have the impression that you have already chosen,” says Zazie to the candidate.

Left alone on the set, Mika laughs: "Do you realize what you're doing? If he doesn't choose me, it's shame for the rest of my career!"

 

And, it is obviously no surprise that Gabriel decided to join the team of the singer of Relax, take it easy. “It was the worst suspense I've seen in my life on TV,” quips Big Flo in front of the camera.

Once Gabriel Lobao returned backstage, Mika continued to praise his talent's skills. “He has a brave aura when he is on stage and that is good because this fragility with this talent, the potential is immense.”
