30 secondes - lyrics and song discussions

Recommended Posts

I don't catch all words yet.

Here it it:

allez, vas-y embrasse-moi

And the last line I hear   "on pourrait s'arreter en 30 secondes"

ohh, I love this! :wub2: He talks about meeting someone, but the lyrics push you to seize the moment, whatever moment that is for you.

translation:

come on, go ahead and kiss me
my heart is only free for you
go, in front of everyone
change our lives in 30 seconds
let's force the hand of destiny
who knows where we will be tomorrow
go, in front of everyone
change our lives in 30 seconds

it could all start in 30 seconds
everything could be over in 30 seconds

I'm not sure yet about the music, sounds nice but doesn't catch me as much as Jane Birkin or Moi, Andy et Paris. But I had to listen to Jane Birkin a few times as well to get completely addicted to it, so the same might happen with this one. Anyway I like the topic (I LOVE romantic movies! :wub2:) and the empowering lyrics.

Love the sound of this one! Honestly, I've liked everything we've heard from the album so far. :cloud:

A few lines  sound like Good Guys (referring to the music)

Thank you! I was trying to think what it was.

I just realized it reminds me quite a lot of Lady in Red by Chris de Burgh - also a very very romantic song that I like a lot, but somehow these similarities bother me a little. I guess it won't bother me too long, once I get used to Mika's song I'm sure it's not an issue anymore (and the rest of the song might sound very different as well), but now the Chris de Burgh song keeps playing in my head after this snippet finishes. 😅

WAIT!! Does this mean there will be an English version as well!?!?

He sang "Blame it on the weather" then later it became "L' amour dans le mauvais temps" in TOOL French edition so I think it is more an evolution in that way. Of course you never can tell ahead...

I really REALLY hope so, it sounds so good :wub2:

Didn’t he once say he writes all his songs in English first? With the exception being Elle Me Dit, because when he sang it for the first time “a Greek man” wondered who “Emily” was :biggrin2:

With "Blame It On The Weather" it was a different story. He performed the song live and got so many negative comments from some fans, that in the end he gave up and later released the song in the French version... too bad, it was lovely in English.

I absolutely loved it in English as well. I still love to watch him perform it with Ida on YouTube.
