That's a good idea. Mika singing with an opera-tenor-voice singing about sun. :thumb_yello: Nice one.

as we need a massive attack (it's horrible in italy today too :sneaky2:) we can even ask for an EP

o sole mio

let the sunshine in

the house of the rising sun

walking on sunshine

here comes the sun

Do you remember 2008? Mika had a new song called 'rain'. After that we had rain for weeks.

:badmood:

When Mika did some tv and radioshows in december 2009 he did 'let it snow'. After that we had a terrible snowy mess for weeks.

I suggest our weatherman Mika should write a song about SUN. Or cover 'let the sunshine in'. Especially with all these outdoor festivals coming up it's a good idea.

:groupwave:

You are so right!!! Let´s make a petition for a sunny song....

Queueing was cold and great and I was being an awesome facepainter. At the drug store they thought I was pretending to be Lady Gaga and we ended up joking about it all day:roftl:

Stood on Imma's side next to the hatter. Was amazing, Mika shot us during Billy Brown and killed Freddie...mwahahaha

Now the most important thing ofcourse, the stage invasion. Completely unexpected. I saw Mika pointed at Freddie and then the stage to a security guy and I screamed: "FREDDIIEE HE WANTS YOU ON STAGE!" Freddie didn't believe it until the guy got him and we pushed him over. Then Mika looked straight into my eyes, pointed at me and then the stage. I pointed at myself mouthing: "Me?" As if I couldn't believe it and he nodded and did the gesture again so I started panicking and threw myself over the barrier. Apparently Mika already put his hand out to grab me but it was all a blur, I didn't see him and ran backstage.

I saw Freddie and he screamed: WHAT ARE YOOOUUU DOING HERE? Then we hugged and Mika came over, took Freddie's hand and dragged him to the other side of the stage as if he didn't want all of that on his stage:aah: I moved forwards and Imma immediately ran over to me, took my hand, said something along the lines of: LET'S ROCK AND ROLL and put her arm over my shoulder and I did the same and we jumped like crazy and then Lollipop was over and Kick Ass started and I just thought, feck it, I will do the flashmob and I stubbornly did it even though other things were happening everywhere:roftl:

It was over before I knew it and we went back to our friends and climbed over the barrier again. We took a grouppic and at last we managed to go outside.

M&G was nice but rushed. When he came over I gave him the Alice cd. He looked at it and said: "You know, they asked me to do the soundtrack for Alice in Wonderland" and everyone just looked like  So I asked; Why didn't you do it? and he replied: "I didn't like the other songs on it. Avril Lavigne is on it" It wasn't on the cd I gave though but I just went like yeah she does suck.

Then my dear Adam Bubblespurry screamed: SHE'S LADY GAGA! And he just did the WTF face:roftl:

Then Freddie started talking to him and he put his arms around my neck and as he was talking more and more his grip got tighter and tighter and I said: "Freddie, Freddie, Freddie" and then Freddie said: Yeaaah what? and me: "You're choking me" and Mika looked at me and started laughing (Sadist!:mf_rosetinted:) and Freddie said: "I can do whatever I want, I'm the Mad Hatter!"

It was an amazing night and you could tell Mika adored the Alice theme. And it was even more special for me to be on stage, because I wasn't picked by mama p. but I was PERSONALLY CHOSEN by the man himself to be on that stage which made it even more special!

Next adventure....PINKPOP!

loved reading your report Ingie!!! so happy that you and Freddie were personally chosen to dance on stage:biggrin2:

There's a review in the Utrecht part of the AD newspaper about the gig. It is reasonably positive and it says that Mika was delayed since he got lost in Amsterdam, trying to find his favorite furniture shop by his own :teehee:.

Then he couldn't find a cap and but a lady in a cafe helped him to get one. He didn't have enough money for the taxi but I'm sure John took care of that :naughty:.

Did anyone else read reviews in newspapers about the gig?

He's a liability going out and about on his own:roftl:

That is so funny and so cute at the same time.

Gotta love him.:wub2:

I can't say I didn't try: being an experienced and well-travelled rock chick I really did my best to brainwash my lovely babes ... it was working quite fine ...

and then Mika came along ...

and boy, my house was a-blast day in day out with sugary bubblegum pop at full volume ... So when I accidentally stumbled upon tour dates I sent old Mr Claus a message and two tickets 'arrived' for the concert in Amsterdam. The music blared on ...

Then the show got postponed ... and the music blasted on and this mum started to listen to some of the lyrics ... and this mum thought, ' okay this ain't too bad'.

Then it got to be 7 May 2010 ... show time! Mum picked up babes from school at 4 pm and after an epic train journey got to the HMH at 5.30-ish

I had no idea what to expect. I had expected dressing up and was pleased to see the wonderful costumes (although unfortunately, my boy chickened out in the end). Before writing on, I want to complement the security and fans for running the Q well and making sure there was no running/pushing so we could walk in (and hide our little stools hihi). I also have to say i witnessed the hassle with the girl in the wheel chair and was proud of the fans who were trying to help her; looks like you guys have a great community going! I'm really happy that she got to meet and greet (I didn't get involved as I was trying to hide the stools I had been warned about but still smuggled in, sorry)

We ended up 2/3 row on the left/middle of the stage (and myself behind that seeing I only went for the kids). It was a long wait for the children but I was pleased that I had accidentally chosen the right side of the stage (I had wanted to be on the side where Mika would play the piano) when they took off the sheets.

And then the whole show thing started. Mika arrives in a space suit ... it was one big long panto the beautiful costumes, the set, the non-story line, quality (I repeat QUALITY) singing but without the naff jokes ...

I admit it: I screamed like a teenager, partied like a mad hatter and disappeared in a world of fantasy for an hour or two - I utterly lost my cool! I happen to think toy boy is a real gem and was really sad he didn't play it ... UNTIL the ENCORES yeehaa!!!!! Hats off to MIKA. You blew me away ...

BUT better still: My little boy (9, with wild red curls, coz that's the way MIKA has his hair) did not once pump his fists, didn't jump (couldn't really, the stool might have collapsed) but I could see the back of his head bobbing and I KNOW he sang along with every single song, every single word (sorry for the girls on the left and right of him). He talks about nothing but moments from the show and recalls every minute of it over dinner, before bed ...

My girl (12, the quiet one) screeched, whooped, sang, laughed, (carefully) danced and declared 2 seconds after the show, 'this has been the BEST ever thing EVER in my life!' apologies too to the peeps next to her ... she too sang every word!

It was a gift to see my children experience a concert I am sure will stay with them for always. It wasn't their first (yeah, I did 'drag' them to a rock concert here and there already ...) but this was THE momentous one. This was the one where you KNOW ... that thing you need to know about yourself. I saw my first concert at 15 and I knew my life had changed forever. My children got an experience last week that profoundly moved them and I will never forget the sheer bliss in their eyes. A mum's gotta love her babes and all this mum ever wanted was for them to experience the power of music the way I did ... MIKA gave them that gift.

THANKS!!!!!!!!!

I like slash-mob. Let's keep calling it slash-mob :biggrin2:. Were you in fancy dress?

Well I was wearing a dress, but it was so freezing cold that I wore my coat over it, while we were queue up. The only thing you could have seen was my 'playingcard bracelet'. Don't have any pics of my dress at this moment: my friend took some pictures...

Especially for Awijmans :wink2:

The pictures are really dark, the quality isn't that great, sorry:

(I probably shouldn't laugh. I still manage to get lost in Amsterdam occasionally - and I live there. :teehee:)

Depending on what part of town he was in - they might have. :naughty:

@Couldbepurple: What a lovely report! Great to hear you and your children enjoyed the concert so much!
