  1. I feel the same. I'm looking to go over to Bluesky at some point. As for Threads I think you can access it with a VPN if you're willing to use one.
  2. Thanks, I am trying to stay positive about the situation. I'm regularly checking re-sales on ticketmaster and also here on the extra ticket thread. Who knows, something might just come up! 😊
  3. Very glad you've created this thread @QueenBigFat I feel like it's a topic many Mika fans will be able to discuss and express their own stories of life changing Mika moments. As for myself, where do I start?! (I feel like this is a thread I'll keep popping back into to). Well the beginning is a good a place to start as any, so I shall start there! I was horrifically bullied from primary school and through to secondary school. For a long time I didn't have much in ways of releasing my emotions, I really didn't know how to express myself and open up to others. I also didn't like music that much when I was younger (shock horror I know!), there just wasn't anything out at the time that grabbed my attention! Certainly nothing substantial enough that I could relate to anyway. All of that changed in 2007. Secondary School bullying was WILD. Anything unusual or different that the bullies could pick up on was pretty much all the ammunition they needed to throw back in my face. I found very little escape from it. However, LICM came along and my life was truly changed. It took me a while to truly appreciate every song on the album but the ones that struck me straight away were Billy Brown, Stuck in the Middle and Lollipop. Now I was a rather naive child at the time, I didn't know what Lollipop was about at first but for me it became my anti-bullying song! Whenever I had a bad day I would listen to that song over and over again in an attempt to block out the hateful things I'd heard from the bullies. At home I would play LICM from beginning to end and dance around my room, I'd finally found a release for all the bad things that were happening and listening to music, MIKA'S music made me happy in a way that I couldn't experience at school. (Discovering Mika also opened the door for other musical experiences too, I wouldn't be without music in my life now!). I soon realised that here was a guy who was putting his life story into song and I began to take more notice of the lyrics and create my own interpretations too. LICM was like a comfort blanket for me, never before had I felt such a strong relateble connection to an artist. I was hooked on the magic of Mika, his words, his openness and his honesty. It really was a life changing moment discovering him or I should say thank God he came into my life at the right time!
  4. Thinking about it now, it might be a bit much! I'd rather see Mika in a ball pool, at least that way I can join in too!
  5. I know he's talking to Dickie here: But Mika in speedos, now there's something I can visualise too!
  6. Thanks for sharing your wonderful experience @mellody! Even if I had time to prepare I still think I'd loose all confidence in front of Mika and become a blubbering mess! Your time with him really does sound like a dream but a dream come true!
  7. RING RING *Mika calls*: "Prisca I'm concerned, you haven't posted in this thread since February 2022!"
  8. I did, in the subject box it should say 'Mika Store Order - Bristol 2023 Tote', if it's still not showing up let me know and I'll send it again. Strange about the link. The one I shared above is what I've had bookmarked right from when the UK shop opened, odd that it suddenly redirected me to EMI . However the link you shared does work for me! (Now re-bookmarked under my folder 'Mika Favourites'! 😄)
  9. Sure thing, I've just sent it now :) (hopefully it's gone to the right email) The UK/EU shop link also no longer goes to Mika's shop. It redirects to the general EMI online store, this is the link I've had bookmarked: https://shop.emi.com/mika
  10. And yet another push back for the Bristol merchandise order... New dispatch date is now 27th October
  11. Wow that's a lot of animals to have in one shelter! When I worked for a cat rescue charity we could hold 30 adult cats and only had 6 'blocks' for kittens (each block could hold a small litter). It's awful that so many animals are being abandoned lately, there's been reports of the same thing here in the UK too. Abandonment has certainly gone up since the pandemic 😔 Like @Hero said all these animals need loving homes and loving owners! Beautiful cat by the way! Glad he's recovered now and got a good home 😊
  12. There's just something about black and white pictures of Mika that really accentuates the beauty of his face Those eyelashes, the neck, the 5 o'clock shadow... oh my, will power is waning!
  13. Had a short Mika dream last night but a good one! I was sat in a small room with quite a few other people too. Mika was stood at the front giving a talk to us all, he said he would like to introduce his new PA and invited me up to stand next to him! I was so excited to be working with him! He told the audience a little bit about me and what I would be doing and then asked me what am I most looking forward to in my new job. Probably a bit cheesy but I replied "spending time with you!" He didn't seem to mind and gave me a hug! He then announced a title of a new single from his album, a song called 'Fruits'. I remember too he was wearing a very smart green suit. Short and sweet dream but lovely!
  14. I know it's only seven seconds long but can anyone translate at all? And as for Jane Birkin, I wonder if Mika has been inspired by her famous song 'Je t'aime'? That song got banned in a few places upon it's release because of it's... shall we say risqué sound affects! So it makes sense if his friend Valerie is making "ahhhh" sounds!
  15. Did Mika ever share a video answering the questions from Spanish fans or did I miss that?
  16. Hi and Emily! I'm CJ from Yorkshire, my only regret regarding MFC is that I didn't find it sooner! I'm also glad of the friendly community here and the friends I've made! Enjoy everything here! 😊
  17. I love this idea too and the title! I don't think there's a thread already about how Mika has changed lives, so go for it!
  18. There's a waiting list for Manchester but not London. My only worry is that if tickets come up last minute I won't have time to book travel or accommodation.
  19. The thing is I also have to think about travel arrangements. If I can't get tickets for both of us by maybe December time then I might have to give London a miss. Bless my Mum though, she said I could get a standing ticket and she'll go shopping and stay at the hotel on the day instead! 😭 There's no way I could go all the way down to London with her and not have her with me for the concert. Manchester is much MUCH closer to me, it might be possible I'll go there on my own...
  20. Thanks but they're all quite far back and I know the access to the circle is 60 steps I think? I need accessibility or closer seats so that my Mum can get to them.
  21. Well I am currently heartbroken 😥 I sent an email a couple of days ago asking about accessibility tickets, I was told to ring at 10am today as that's the only way to get them. I did, waited on hold for nearly 30 minutes only to be told they've sold out already And now at the moment it looks impossible to get seated tickets for London unless I keep checking for the re-sales. At to make things worse, Manchester has sold out too for their access seats Currently don't know what to think or say, feeling very deflated at the moment.
  22. Hi and @Divera Zilvania There's so much to discover here about Mika. This thread is a great start to find new things!
  23. I think so, I've just checked the website again and the date has now been removed. I also recommend anyone to sign up to the BandsinTown newsletter if you haven't already. I think anyone can sign up regardless of country, you pop in you're location, select your favourite bands/artists and then you get email updates of when they're performing near you. Here's the website: https://www.bandsintown.com/ What's great too is that they occasionally email you asking where you'd like to see your favourite artist, I've put Leeds in a couple of times for Mika but I don't think he got the memo! 😅
