  1. It’s a song of resistance, with a flower power kind of feel. That’s how I would describe it. And he is filming the music video for it now!? In the Netherlands!? My Dutch heart goes AAHHHHHHHHH
  2. I THINK HE IS! But then, my French is very limited. Or it’s just what I want to hear It’s catchy and naughty, complete tongue in cheek song. Listening to it this morning it’s catching me more than last night midnight.
  3. Or he just randomly chose to do something and decided to let everyone guess I do think there is a reference to heaven and the colour blue. Blue like the sky, I will always love the blue in you. May your head always bloom. For some reason I don’t think it’s necessarily about him, sitting on a cloud. It’s more about expanding the possibilities: the sky is the limit. He recently opened Atelier Mika, because he was tired of people telling him “no” or “it’s not possible”. If you surround yourself with people who will see the possibilities instead of the limitations, the sky truly is the limit. Before his family made it possible (which was also mentioned in “Le Divan”, now 10 years ago!), but now he is expanding his circle, so he can continue to create limitlessly.
  4. Wow that went fast!! I wonder how much they put up for sale to begin with. Don’t want to be giving him carpal tunnel syndrome now with all the vinyls he has to sign
  5. I actually do know, I just wanted to make a phonetic joke, but that doesn’t work in writing does it I do however make increasingly more mistakes in English, since I don’t use it as often as I used to. That for someone being raised bilingual (English/Dutch) Yes, I have noticed the colour theme and I really am curious to know what the story is. For all albums actually. On the other hand I also don’t want him to tell us until I have formed my own interpretation. Oh the struggle of curiosity!!
  6. Look at him manifesting what he wants - he did play there a few years later!
  7. Ha! Direct gemaild! Wishful thinking maar hey, niet geschoten altijd mis toch!?
  8. When I first saw the album cover I felt it was both beautiful as it made me feel uneasy, because it’s inviting yet provoking. I’m glad to read I am not the only one! I agree with @Herothat there is something very destabilized in there, I also find @mellody’s observation and @CharlotteL’s interpretation a very good one with the colours. And @TinyLove_CJyou and the yoke just made me laugh out loud. “Am I a yoke to you!?!?” There are a lot of contrasts in this album cover. The first thing I noticed are the colours: around him it’s pastel and he himself is portrayed in harsher and stronger colours. Showcasing a broader colour palette. Showing different colours of him, a side of him that is very much part of him. It’s symbolic form of honestly. When I compare the portraits I have made from the beginning until now, I have noticed that I have expanded my colour palette and also have added more nuances, as I familiarize myself more with his work and partly what he shows us of himself. I think it’s a metaphor he is using as well. The logo going from solid to liquid, then him sitting on a cloud in the sky and well, @Hero’s reference to the sun shining out of his… : what if they are the elements? Earth, water, wind and he is fire (and no, I did not say “FIYAAA” in my head, no I didn’t… okay maybe I did! ). Going back to the basics (basic elements), something grounding. Also him in the sky is a separation, from him to the world or the world to him. As a citizen of the world you can’t be defined by one place, culture or language, is my personal experience. You don’t really belong, but that is okay. Because you belong where your heart is. And maybe it is a reference that his heart is now between heaven and earth.
  9. Ah the Lanesborough! I went for high tea there once (pre Mika), it’s absolutely stunning from the inside. However, the people going for high tea there… not so much. I distinctively remember going there, because this ironic scene is just etched in my mind; imagine this luxurious hotel with beautiful carpets and chairs and chandeliers…. And then women dressed in pants that were so low that you could see their crack when they would sit. I mean!?! Dresscode “smart” casual?
  10. If it’s playback I know what I can do for 10 seconds. But there are 3m20s more to fill and I’m like “no, that’s too much of me for the world to see, I’m out”
  11. I just watched the English version of the announcement again and he does say “your playback version”.
  12. BTW it says “SEND US YOUR BEST "C'EST LA VIE" PLAYBACK”. So you can also mime!
  13. Same like, no one wants to hear what comes out of my mouth when I attempt to sing
  14. Most probably referring to the part of the family that was (is) not as open to the LGBTQIA+ community.
  15. For a second I thought of this: (Honestly how does everything refer to LITERAL Icecream in my head?!) But honestly I think it’s a bad autocorrect moment?
  16. I would say it’s a sing a long… with Mika himself!!! How lucky are we?
  17. I wholeheartedly agree with you. He seems very accessible, but the truth is: he is not our friend, he is a popstar (poptart) and if it’s a controlled environment (barriers or security in place, or just simply people who will behave and not push and touch him), it is much more likely he will stay for a chat (if he doesn’t have other engagements or it not in the middle of the night). Prime example was in South Korea, when fans outside of the radio station would queue and stay in place. He came out and took his time for everyone. I think crowds should take an example to that. This is true. And he eventually also knows who are polite.
  18. This makes me feel so proud and warms my heart. Love the love he’s getting by these (soon to be) sold out shows!!
  19. Can I just say that I love this part where we are interpreting everything and hope to see little hints and signs (and actual explanations) from Mika himself I do have to admit that I prefer when he isn’t 100% clear about it, because then we all can give our own meaning to it and will attend the concerts with an open mind and a chance to be surprised. Or even change our interpretation based on what we see and hear. I personally absolutely love that about his concerts. Like he did with the tiger head: it wasn’t until almost the end of the tour that he explained to us what it means to him. What it symbolizes.
  20. It’s amazing he did a few songs with the orchestra. Is it to try to see if it is doable with a smaller ensemble? What about a symphonic tour in the future with orchestras in the respective cities? Ahhh, the possibilities!!
  21. Hahaha I love that gif Parfait means both “perfect” and “icecream”: it refers to a frozen dessert made from a base of sugar syrup, egg, and cream. And we all know the song “Icecream”! And here receiving French lessons on the forum made me realize how I always think of food first and not grammar Full circle moment!
