(Sorry, in spite of the after party trauma I am still in Mika lurve mode, so shoot me.) It shows that MFCers are willing to support their fellow members... besides, we already have at least one person who's coming on the tour with us from the US, and maybe a few others... Who is that? I'd be willing to consider a trip to Australia too. It would depend on the timing and a billion other factors, but it's not totally out of the question. Anyway I wish you much success in putting something together that will get Mika and his management to take notice. I know what it's like waiting and waiting for those dates to be announced and followed through on. The only thing I can tell you is that it's all worth it in the end. When those first few bars of Relax start you will forget all the disappointment of cancelled gigs, having to bust your ass to convince him to come, the ticket hassles, the expensive travel arrangements, the long wait in the queue. I have 2500+ friends that might sign...?? *worships* OK, here's my response to all of the suggestions made: I like the idea of making a fun/silly propaganda package along the lines of "look at what you're missing" (e.g. Kelzy's pics, the proposed Love Tuhday CD, etc.) with a more serious petition attached. Like some of you said, the problem with that is how are we going to get it to him? And when? If a package isn't practical then I really like the idea of a website, it'd be a great way to organise our fun/silly materials. But that may be time-consuming and challenging to do if we're going to use a free website host. If a website isn't practical, I think that a FaceBook group and a MySpace group (if we have both we can garner more support) would be good enough. We can add our fun/silly material to them, and advertise a link to the online petition and a link to an MFC thread with the details of our hand-written petition there. Then, when we're ready to present our petition(s) to Mika's management we can also point them in the direction of the FaceBook and MySpace groups to show the amount of support that we have. My thought was... maybe we can use the online petition as a starting point for a pen and paper petition... so, people sign that, then anyone who isn't already part of MFC I will contact (as long as they left a valid email addy), and I email them asking if they mind me adding them to it... That's a good idea. We can use a hand-written petition as our main and use the online petition to recruit people. But I think we can also use the online petition as a supplement so that those who can't/won't send via post a signed name or email a scanned name won't be forgotten. We can also use FaceBook and MySpace to recruit people to first sign the online petition then sign the hand-written petition. With the MFC/Mika fans issue, I think the online petition is for all mika fans, and can be advertised as such, (and as a side advertisement for them to join mfc) and then whatever else is just a MFC project. They can be combined to show "this is how much the MFC wants you, and would you look at that, all these other people do too". Or like ... one is to show numbers, one is to show the level of dedication. You know what I mean? I like this idea. So maybe we shouldn't add our fun/silly materials to the FaceBook and MySpace groups after all, we'll save those for an MFC project and keep the groups for both non-MFCers and MFCers.
