MIKAustralia Petition

Mika's too lazy to tour Australia.

Or brush his hair.

Aw...that's adorable. :wub2:

(Sorry, in spite of the after party trauma I am still in Mika lurve mode, so shoot me.)

It shows that MFCers are willing to support their fellow members... besides, we already have at least one person who's coming on the tour with us from the US, and maybe a few others...

Who is that? I'd be willing to consider a trip to Australia too. It would depend on the timing and a billion other factors, but it's not totally out of the question.

Anyway I wish you much success in putting something together that will get Mika and his management to take notice. I know what it's like waiting and waiting for those dates to be announced and followed through on.

The only thing I can tell you is that it's all worth it in the end. When those first few bars of Relax start you will forget all the disappointment of cancelled gigs, having to bust your ass to convince him to come, the ticket hassles, the expensive travel arrangements, the long wait in the queue.

It WILL happen. And it will be awesome. :punk:

visit the rellies!

I'm hoping that we'll get a tour before 2009. He wouldn't make us wait more than a year and a half from his last show, would he? :boxed:

But if you do come that would be amazing. We'd love to have you. :yay:

I'll put a bulletin out on myspace! I have 2500+ friends that might sign...??

*worships*

OK, here's my response to all of the suggestions made:

I like the idea of making a fun/silly propaganda package along the lines of "look at what you're missing" (e.g. Kelzy's pics, the proposed Love Tuhday CD, etc.) with a more serious petition attached. Like some of you said, the problem with that is how are we going to get it to him? And when?

If a package isn't practical then I really like the idea of a website, it'd be a great way to organise our fun/silly materials. But that may be time-consuming and challenging to do if we're going to use a free website host.

If a website isn't practical, I think that a FaceBook group and a MySpace group (if we have both we can garner more support) would be good enough. We can add our fun/silly material to them, and advertise a link to the online petition and a link to an MFC thread with the details of our hand-written petition there. Then, when we're ready to present our petition(s) to Mika's management we can also point them in the direction of the FaceBook and MySpace groups to show the amount of support that we have.

My thought was... maybe we can use the online petition as a starting point for a pen and paper petition... so, people sign that, then anyone who isn't already part of MFC I will contact (as long as they left a valid email addy), and I email them asking if they mind me adding them to it...

That's a good idea. We can use a hand-written petition as our main and use the online petition to recruit people. But I think we can also use the online petition as a supplement so that those who can't/won't send via post a signed name or email a scanned name won't be forgotten.

We can also use FaceBook and MySpace to recruit people to first sign the online petition then sign the hand-written petition.

With the MFC/Mika fans issue, I think the online petition is for all mika fans, and can be advertised as such, (and as a side advertisement for them to join mfc) and then whatever else is just a MFC project. They can be combined to show "this is how much the MFC wants you, and would you look at that, all these other people do too". Or like ... one is to show numbers, one is to show the level of dedication. You know what I mean?

I like this idea.

So maybe we shouldn't add our fun/silly materials to the FaceBook and MySpace groups after all, we'll save those for an MFC project and keep the groups for both non-MFCers and MFCers.

I think this is all fantastic and perfect. If we don't have a way to send it to him, just make a website. And yes, a Myspace group too - anyone want to do it? Doesn't really matter who.

I don't think a free host would be too much of an issue, but if it was we could split the cost ... I am an obsessive website-starter-and-then-abandoner-before-the-layout-is-even-finalised :naughty: But as such have come to find a favourite host, they give you 6 months for free (and then supposedly delete it unless you pay, but I've had one that was still up for at least 2 years after), but 6 months is hopefully enough ... anyway, the good thing is there's no ads, or limitations (except only 30mb, but we can use photobucket or whatever), and you get a http://www.[whatever].id.au domain.

Hmm, good point with the adding stupid things to the myspace/facebook ... not sure. I guess we could add some, just to show people what we're about, but leave most of it off?

I was just brainstorming things in my head ... what do you think about a guide to touring in Australia? With info on what it'd be like at different times of the year, at different places ... that sort of thing. In a humorous way ... accompanied by photoshops. :bleh::naughty:

We won't rule out making a package yet, maybe we should wait until we become official before we make any decisions?

If you're a serial website maker then would you mind managing it? I know virtually nothing of HTML (Units 1&2 VCE I.T. don't count :naughty:) so I wouldn't be able to help out much on the technological side of things. Can anyone else?

Maybe we could include a sample of the propaganda on the groups to liven them up a bit and make them more fun but I definitely think we should save most of it for the MFC project.

I like that idea.

For the Melbourne one I'm envisioning a pic of me, Kelz, Soy, Teegs and DC at Crown Casino drinking strawberry daiquiris with Mika photoshopped in. Or on Bourke St. with shopping bags. Or cruising on the Yarra. :lmfao:

I mean, we already have this:

Look at what I found while looking for the Mikamite BBQ pics:

The Sunday Telegraph, June 3rd 2007:

"Mika played a sold out show at Sydney's The Forum last night and is planning to return to Australia later in the year for a tour.

"That will be my sunshine holiday,'' he said. "I will bring my family and friends over.''

Yep, 'course. But I'm sick of waiting :naughty: So we can just plan the other things now.

Sure. I have zero teachings in computers - for some reason our school thought music students didn't need any extracurriculars  But I'm a serial steal-html-and-cut-and-paste-and-edit-it-into-what-I-want -er :naughty: If anyone else is better ... they might want to wokr on it :mf_rosetinted:

Gotta figure out how we want it set up... And what we want on it...

Like ... maybe just an online version of the book .. with links and info? Or whatelse can we have ... news? Lol, what news? Ignore that idea, hehe.

Maybe we could include a sample of the propaganda on the groups to liven them up a bit and make them more fun but I definitely think we should save most of it for the MFC project.

Yep, that's what I think. Hmmm, maybe we shouldn't start making a website until after we get the official news, but we can start making the stuff, because it can be the same for if it's going on a website as in a book/package. Like inc the CD and such, we can just upload it. But we shouldn't put it up yet incase we do send it, but then some Mr Sticky-beak could come across it...

Haha, love it! With the shopping one, it should be added that he can buy bags for his mum :thumb_yello:

Yahhh, this'll be so much fun!

It's a good thing! Take it as a good thing! We can use this to our advantage! It means he would like to holiday in Australia, and enjoy the sunshine, think of all the photoshops we can make showing him all the great sunshine-y things we have to offer him and his family! :naughty:

i advertised it on a myspace bulletin for you and please add to your myspace bulletins! start the chain reaction!!!

Very good... I'll do a bulletin soon too... give a few days...

Aw...that's adorable.

(Sorry, in spite of the after party trauma I am still in Mika lurve mode, so shoot me.)

Who is that? I'd be willing to consider a trip to Australia too. It would depend on the timing and a billion other factors, but it's not totally out of the question.

Anyway I wish you much success in putting something together that will get Mika and his management to take notice. I know what it's like waiting and waiting for those dates to be announced and followed through on.

charlottechristy is definitely coming...

And yayness Christine! I can worship you in person!

And thanks for the support...and don't remind me about the travel arranements... I'm 4 hours from Syd, so it's lots of travel for me... *hates living in the 'outback'*

I'm quoting you... Let's really consider this. Late 2008 or early 2009.

Very likely to be then... works well for us... no school...

I'll be there in 2009

visit the rellies!

YAY!!!

2009 might also work for me...PARTY IN OZ!

ditto!

So it's Christine... Suzy... Mana... charlie is in... I think (don't quote me though) Deb said something about maybe visiting... maybe... am I missing anyone?

I'm hoping that we'll get a tour before 2009. He wouldn't make us wait more than a year and a half from his last show, would he?

Good ideas... we currently have a Facebook group... should I make the MS one?

And with the paper petition, it's likely to be not till July that we can contact him... i think we should wait a bit till it's official we might be able to get some ideas on how to get it to him... but I do like the idea of a website... I have Dreamweaver, and if I can remember how to use it I may be able to make a page (I think I have free web space on my internet acct)...

*bows to multi-quote queen*

That's all

Thank ye minion!

That's the article I mentioned when we started spamming his MS page...

:( :( I really hope it's before 2009..........

I mean that's not really fair from my point of view...

Everyone else has had their fun........but not us... and also other major countries he hasn't visited yet...that still play his songs on the radio alot.

We didn't get the LICM tour.

When he did come to Sydney I was jobless with no money.....So I didn't get the chance to see him.

I'm willing to help any way I can....even when it's something else we decide....

But yet it's still going to be the official fan club soon.....so maybe we should wait?

I dunno.....
