suzie
I remember an early article where Mika mentioned liking the song Love Like Semtex by Infadels. I Googled it after reading that, and loved it. From this article: http://www.mikafanclub.com/forums/showthread.php?p=247698#post247698 Thank you! I added it to the list and listened to the song as well but can't say I liked it that much.. However, this article also reveals a song he cannot stand: Rogue Traders: Voodoo Child.... (He does seem to hate everything that has anything to do with voodoo ... )

Fmbm
He played Andrew Bird's "Oh No" as the pre-show filler music in Brussels, I think.
sienna
I added Die Forelle from today's interview in Hamburg Sigh! More than anything else I would love to hear Mika singing opera! Not that I’m a big opera fan as such, I only go for the simple stuff like The Magic Flute for example and I have heard his child voice in the little pieces we have found. Every time he takes a few notes that is not pop I get this feeling….

suzie
He's an fan of Flaming Lips. He said it in the Jo Whiley interview never even heard of them before, so here is a performance from them in case others are in similar shoes EDIT!!! Just found this one from them These guys seriously have a lot in common with Mika Queen, baloons, spacemen and Santa Clause's and added them, course:thumb_yello: Edited July 23, 2009 by suzie
sienna
added I know... ..check what I have done somewhere else... Oh I saw it... lovely! Makes me think of all the other little things we have been nagging him about and which has come true! Acoustic tour. Privileges for the MFC. Seated venues. Making a blog, telling us about coming music. (Let the moderators have contact with his management. Oh I know it’s controversial, but it’s definitely a progress imho!) But singing opera…maybe that is to aim for the stars! Would be a pleasure to listen to it though….
laura*
I added Die Forelle from today's interview in Hamburg Do you mean Die Forelle quintet by Schubert? He really truly said that! The Trout Quintet is my favourite chamber music composition! I've got the music score, too. I would like to play the piano part one day!
Marilyn Mastin
I think he said one time that he didn't think his voice was suitable for opera. He had the training but he knew he couldn't become an opera singer. But in my opinion he's doing exactly the right thing with his career! He's amazing at writing all kinds of music and singing it so well. I love what he does and of course he'll need to mature and evolve as time goes on, but that will happen anyway and has actually already happened with this new album! With Mika, we have so much to look forward to. Leave the opera singing to Rydian and all the other opera singers and enjoy the wonderful Mika as he is now, and will be in the future. He mentioned the Lieder collection of Schubert and then he was asked to sing one.... That's the only one I would have been able to sing as well, but not in German of course... He is truly amazing :wub2:
