Here's another video of 'Karen' song. Don't think it was posted already and I guess the sound here is a bit clearer :wink2:

Edit: I just noticed Martin with the wig :lmfao:

Now it's Ida reading the lyrics. :aah:

Erm yeah... I think I'll wait for the recorded versions, but I have to say I'm not at all impressed by either 82 Rue des Martyrs nor Blame it on the Weather... The quality isn't good so it doesn't help... Blame it on the Weather bores me and 82 is, don't know... Why does he want to sing in French? I'm a French speaker so obviously, I like my language, but I've always thought that English is a far better language for music... I honestly start feeling quite worried about Mika's new album

exactly the same!!! :thumb_yello: I totally agree with you! Elle me dit's my favourite so far (but it's not that I'm impressed by it either:boxed:) Ida's song bores me, and Karen's song has a really nice lyric, but the mellody is not my thing...anyway, I want to wait until the recorded versions too....(it's happened to me many times with Mika that at first I don't like the song, but then I can't get it out of my mind)...so let's see....:dunno:

I'm back from Compiègne!! It was amazing, I can't even believe I was there :wub2: Moreover I met and saw Mika fans for the first time yesterday so that's quite a big step :biggrin2: (and I 'met' Mika too, along with 100 people of course :aah:)

I need to have a look at my pics and vids and if they're good enough I can post them, but I don't know how much has been posted yet, didn't get time to read all the thread

Here it is... Posted it in the other thread cause i was also talking about the visual effects topic, and i hadn't seen this thread yet.

Hello to all... Long time no see :)

The show was really good. I do think the Marie-Antoinette theme is a one shot thing, only set for this particular place he was playing. He wasn't more disctracted that what i've seen him before, and there was no more "theatrical things" than in other shows he's played on previous tours, no need to worry about that in my opinion. When you get to play bigger venues and bigger audiences, there's got to be a visual part to fill up that huge stage :) If hewas just playing in a plain white T on that kind of stage, i don't think he would get the maximum of the performance as an ensemble. And people at the back of these huge audiences got to see something since they don't really see him :)

He's getting more and more confidence on stage and interacting more with the audience, and that's quite nice (compared to the very beginning where he was singing his songs one after the others).

The new Blame it song is really beautiful.

Elle me Dit is fun.

I don't think much of that Karen song yet, i think i would have to listen to it again to get the words, cause i didn't catch everything.

And he's still a cutie :) It'd been a long time and it was a real pleasure seeing him again on stage, doing what he does best. And no, that's not dancing :biggrin2:

He even signed quite a lot of things at the end when going to the bus, compared to what i've seen before. I guess he was in a good mood.

Report from yesterday.

So, after a long trip on Friday eve and night I arrived in Compiegne and went to sleep directly, predicting a very long day on Sat. And it could not have been more true !!!

Arrived for the queue at 6: 00 AM and was number 70 on the list :boxed:. It actually begins at 2 AM, and at 3 AM, 35 people were already waiting. For 3-4 hours in the morning, it was raining and since the street was in paving stones, it was pretty incomfortable.

A second list (after the first 100) was started in case the organization would allow more people. During the time, I met many really nice people and the waiting wasn't that long till 3:30 - 4 PM. At this moment, some wanted to united the fans on the list in a row. Asap we start moving, all the other persons stand and it was impossible to sit after that. Worse, the people arriving to queue after, just stand next to our queue (which were not delimited in a space !!!) So I let you imagine the mess !!!

The rehearsal of Mika started pretty late around 5:30 -6 PM till 7 PM, while the doors should have opened at 6 PM. We then stay standing for hours and everyone was beginning to complain and to boo the security who let us stay there, looking at us but not doing anything. When they open the 3 doors at the same time (so the list didn't work at all : Sooooooo angry because I only left the queue twice and was in front of the barrier all day long until I was told to wait behind !!! :sneaky2: ). Anyway, everyone went crasy and we were push from every side and had to push back to keep our position.

The security at the doors didn't even check the bags... It was soooo messy : never ever seen this !!!

You then understand that I stand at the 2nd row but so far away from the middle of the stage. Was frustated.

Then, first part starts : god, it was 3 DJs one after the other and at the end, a "singer" came on stage to sing : it was a nightmare. I usually respect each style... but THAT was too much. After 10 mins, everyone was waving at him to make him understood we wanted him to leave, then he was booed and hissed, and the crowd started calling Mika, Mika Mika... So he left, despaired but us alleviate !

Then Mika's part.

The stage was absolutely lovely, with paintings and the chandeliers ... and the musicians and singers were all dressed gorgeously.

Then beginning of Relax and the appearance of MIIIIIIKKKKAAAAA!! So good to see him : he was really beautiful, all in a golden white. During the show, the "girls" removed parts of their dress, they were soooooo sexy sweatdrop::drool:. they were 4 other girls behind on strings

The list of the songs was pretty usual : Relax, BG, SITM...

On Billy Brown many waved the Pom-poms and Mika seems pretty please with that. First new song was 82 rue des martyrs : really good songs. They are good way to dance on this one. The musicians made a mistake at the beginning of Rain : they started playing Relax, so Mika stop them and everyone laughed. I don't know if it was predicted or not, but Mika did not introduce his musicians and singers before Happy Ending and during the show.

WAG rocks our socks and Cherisse ended it with sooo much energy : everyone was impressed. As usual, they all came back on stage for 2 others songs : the first was the new song from the 3rd album. I've seen people calling it Blame in on the weather. I'd prefer "Stormy weather" or "You could be the thunder" to differ from BIOTG but anyway : the duet with Ida was really lovely and I think the song as a really good potential. Then Lollipop

Then we called him back because the show lasted only 1hour 30 so, we wanted more... But they just left like this even people called a lot and stayed long.

I do love Mika but this was disappointing : all day long, the long travel (people came from Spain, Swiss, US...), the price of the show (50€) for 1h30

was rude !

After, each part of my body ached soooo much I didn't wait for the "M&G"

Assessment : ambivalent

Thank you for posting the pics :flowers2: The setting looks stunning. Everything is so consistent and in line with the theme.

Even though it's not the typical hands-on kind of props that I love so much about his settings, I still like it very much.

Thanks!! for sharing photos and videos :wink2:

when read yesterday the name of this song "Blame it on the weather" although the name did not say much ... the music is beautiful :blush-anim-cl:

this seems to be one of the ballads for the new album.

I like listening studio album and know the lyrics

I have a doubt, this song is called "Karen" or "82 Rue des Martyrs" ?

I really liked his rhythm is good! I would love to know what the letter says that I do not know anything French

I loved the staging and costumes are very cute, ideal for landscape Palais Imperial.
