What song was #1 on the day we were born.

Recommended Posts

Some people believe our lives are profoundly influenced by whatever pop song was #1 on the day we were born.

My number #1's are:

'You're So Vain' by Carly Simon in the US

'Long Haired Lover From Liverpool' by Little Jimmy Osmond in the UK

'Ben' by Michael Jackson in Australia

See which songs you get

Oh my some of you are so young! I think I was already out clubbing when that Marky Mark song was number one. :aah:

Teegan I remember yours so well as I just started my second year of high school in September 1983 and just got my spankin' new Walkman. :naughty: that Fixx song was great and I remember specifically listening to that Culture Club album on high rotation at school. I was a huge fan of The Best Little Whorehouse and the soundtrack and Kenny Rogers' The Gambler was a huge success a few years before so Islands in the Stream was one of my favs too.

The #1 song in the US and Canada when I was born was a song by Herb Alpert that I'd never heard of until I looked it up one day. I found it prophetic though because my first professional job was at A&M records and Herp Albert is the "A" so he was my big bossman. :naughty:
