It seems that Mika (and Kendji :aah:) will appear in a TV show "La chanson de l'année" (Best song of the year) in the evening of the 14th of June, on TF1. Mika has no song nominated, so either they will give the prize or make some "host job", or they will sing as "guests". We don't know anything more yet, no idea if it will be worth it :mf_rosetinted:

It's possible to attend the recording of the show, on Tuesday 10th of June (7:30PM) in Zenith de Paris. Registration through Cassandra website, as for The Voice.

(As for The Voice, it's not because you register that you are sure to get invitations, I say it especially for people not living in France :wink2: don't book anything until you get an invitation :teehee:)

 

Maybe they will sing "L'Aigle Noir"? :original:

Actuellement en plein enregistrement de son nouvel album, Mika se prête au jeu de l'interview pour Vanity Fair. L'occasion d'en savoir plus sur son concept de la beauté et sur les passions un peu honteuses du juré de "The Voice".

 

Excentrique et passionné, Mika a déboulé comme un boulet de canon dans la saison 3 de "The Voice". Chouchou sur le plateau et aux coeurs de tensions avérées ou fantasmées entre les coachs, il n'a pas sa langue dans sa poche et le prouve une fois de plus en se confiant au magazine Vanity Fair.

 

L'occasion d'en savoir plus sur la façon dont la star se perçoit. Et le moins que l'on puisse dire, c'est qu'il ne manque pas de recul sur lui-même. Ainsi, quand le magazine lui demande à qui il ressemblerait dans dix ans, Mika répond, pince-sans-rire. "J'ai utilisé une application sur mon iPhone pour me vieillir : apparemment, j'aurai l'air d'un personnage de "La Planète des singes". Lui préférait nettement ressembler à l'ex-agent 007, Pierce Brosnan.

 

Le chanteur d'origine libanaise confie avoir une "tête comme un chou-fleur" au réveil, et qu'il rêverait de ressembler à l'une de ses grandes stars devenues des icônes. "J'adorerais ressembler à James Dean, mais apparemment la beauté n'apporte que peines et problèmes. Mais bon, ça ne me dérangerait pas de ressembler à Alain Delon dans 'Plein Soleil'".

 

Plutôt que de le craindre, lui préfère compter sur le temps qui passe : "C'est quelque chose de fiable et de toujours utilie. On en a besoin pour arranger les choses et pour apaiser la douleur." Quand il a besoin de souffler, le coach de "The Voice" qu'on a dit le mieux payé aime "fuir la ville dès que possible et cuisiner de la sauce tomate". Des plaisirs simples, comme rire, qui est pour lui la meilleur façon d'être beau, "même quand vous êtes moche et sale".

 

Le chanteur, qui se dit très inspiré par Nina Simone ("Elle m'a appris que les chansons les plus tristes pouvaient être malgré tout merveilleuses et pleines d'espoir.") avoue qu'il a un drôle de remède pour gérer le trac : "Je me brosse les dents."

 

Une dernière confidence ? Mika partage sa passion honteuse : "'Cougar Town', sans doute la pire série télé au monde. Mais j'en suis dingue."

This article is actually only from a "trash" website who takes some parts of the Vanity Fair interview and put in some other comments who are surely not in the interview. The true interview of Vanity Fair will surely be more reliable, I tried to find it but it's not available on the internet yet I think.

Thank you Lucrezia! Even if I missed some bits because of my bad French, I'm once more amazed by his beautiful choice of words. Part of the reason could be that French language would make a shopping list sound charming though. :naughty:

Very funny, too. I hope someone will be able to translate it.

The self-portrait's cute, very resemblant to the real one :)

A. Who would you like to look like?

I would love to say James Dean , but it seems beauty only brings sorrows and problems. But I wouldn't mind looking like Alain Delon in "Plein soleil".

 

B. Who do you look like?

Right now, I just woke up, so I look like a boy out if a cabbage. a head like a cauliflower, but much bigger.

 

C. Who will you look like in ten years?

I've used an iphone ap to make me look older and it seems I'll look like one of the characters of "Planet of the Apes". I would like to look like Pierce Brosnan,but I'm afraid that would be a bit far fetched.

 

D. Where would you like to be now?

In Lebanon or in Greece. Somewhere high, watching the sea, with a town not too far.

 

E.What makes you beautiful?

Laughing. That makes you beautiful even if you're ugly and dirty.

 

F. What is your motto?

The louder the music , the better. Never mind if you become deaf, but that's a drug. Anyway I have to play it louder and louder so I can hear. It's a vicious circle.

 

G. What do you excel at?

Light campfires and make words rime with the skills of a dyslexic.

 

I. What is your favorite swear word?

Pauciloquent: that's someone who expresses with very few words. I find that funny.

 

J.What do you do to relax.

Leave the town as much a possible. Cook tomato sauce.

Water (at least four bottles), mint bubble gums, bad books that make me fall asleep, pencils, pens and a sketchbook, my old iphone will all my music which I don't want to abandon to this filthy "cloud"

 

L. What do you believe in?

I believe in the passing of time. That's always something very reliable and very useful. It's needed to fix things and to soothe the pain.

 

M. Which song, film or book changed your life?

Mississipi Goddam by Nina Simone. She taught me that the saddest songs could yet be wonderful and filled with hope. That's the perfect definition of a good song.

 

N. What flaw can you forgive yourself for having?

Being anxious, prone to anger and being stubborn. Lots of things actually.

 

O. The flaws you don't forgive?

Passive aggression. That makes me sick. That's sheer cowardice.

 

P. What food can't you resist?

Tagada strawberries (sweets)

 

Q. What is the worst thing one could freak their lover with?

"My ipod playlist" It's something totally subjective. I learned that at my expense.

 

R. What dream do you do very often?

None. I used to dream about the end of the world again and again before I was thirteen. Now it's much better.

 

S. What passion are you ashamed of?

I watch "Cougar Town" which is probably the worst serie ever. But I'm crazy about it.

 

T. What is your favorite object that you always keep with you (for good luck)?

I have none because I love everything. Can I say my dog? At least I haven' t lost her.

 

U. How do you fight against stress before going on stage?

I brush my teeth.

 

V. What sports are you a big fan of ?

Kite and canyoning.

 

W. What's your favorite joke?

It' s the same as with my favorite object I have none because I always forget jokes endings. The advantage is you can tell me the same jokes and I find them each time I hear them since I don't remember how they end.

 

X. What's your favorite day?

May 1st as it always reminds me of my childhood. Spring was always a happy time period for me. Optimism gets over pressure and disappointments.
