I guess I'm just getting tired of having to think so much about what I post. Yeh I am a bit concerned about the younglings, but as said before it shouldn't be my problem, so it shouldn't affect what I can or cannot post, I am not posting pornography anyway. But then I have to think about the people who might be offended when I post something, we can't have that. We all have to be friends or we'll have to get therapy and whatnot. Great, well I am trying not to offend people and I don't think I'm being that offensive anyway. But then I have to think about what might offend Mika, in case he should read the forum. Yeah right and what's next? I have to think about what might offend the pope or the queen of Denmark in case they stop by? I don't give a **** what Mika thinks about my posts on a forum he doesn't post on, if he has any complaints he can send me a PM. What I do care about is if I am seen as a horrible person because I post something that a guy who doesn't post here might find offensive! I'm a member of his ****ing fanclub and invest more time in this than in my own life, if that's not respectful enough then what the hell is? And who is to tell me how I am to respect the man after all? Well why the hell do I bother posting at all :boxed:

I've been saying this for months. And I agree with you on all other points.

I can understand how some people are uncomfortable with some of the things discussed because I am a bit of a prude myself. But I just walk away. I don't go into the thread and start telling people I think they're disgusting or giving them lectures by PM.

In fact people telling me I'm disgusting and that they are disappointed in me as if I am a naughty child is just about the most offensive thing I have ever encountered on this board. WTF gives anyone the right to speak to me that way? I can be aggressive and blunt, but I don't tell people that they are disgusting. That's just f*cking rude and totally uncalled for and the only purpose it served was to upset everyone involved.

It really bothers me that people feel like they can't speak their minds without being berated like a child. I've got thick skin but most people don't and there's no need for things to be handled this way.

Will power is something I lack, in most forms.

I lack the willpower to give up my addiction to maccas (doesn't help that I work there and get discount) and I lack the willpower to stay off here :naughty:

Among other things

Hi Apples, soangel, and all the lurkers who don't post here.

Back from RL.

Speaking of willpower and editing posts...I need to learn to exercise some control over posting my pure thoughts because - I have told too many people I'm a Mika fan and that I'm part of this forum and many of these people don't have a clue about this facet of my personality. Not, that there's anything to be embarassed or ashamed about. But sometimes, reading these posts in isolation with no understanding of the context or history behind some of the inside jokes looks a little shocking. I have googled some of my posts by pure accident.

I have had some 'splaining to do. :roftl:

Dang! This is why I highlighted some of the posts of some of the other un-suspecting, and respected Oldlings who posted early in your thread - why you should be singled out, is beyond me.

I really need to get off here and get some work done. I need some willpower.

Same here. :boxed:

Has anyone got any willpower lying around that they can spare me? :mf_rosetinted:

I thought that was harsh, pointing the finger at you because 'you should know better than to encourage them' (like they didn't know what they were doing). Although the "go nuts, girls" line was a tad encouraging (albeit an amusing pun), you were ending the hijacking of BonjourMika's thread and in a way were doing the contrary by giving them a place to burn them selves out then move on from the topic.

Sorry...I've got "will" and I've got "power" - but they haven't been together for some time now. :naughty:

Yeah, take it from me. No one can tell me what to do. I need to discover it for myself. These girls need to release all this hormonal activity and dialogue in a safe environment and then realize after a day or two how silly they can sound - then they can "delete" their posts and move on with life.

Hmmm interesting thread that (I find it interesting that the debate had died and they were just posting pictures until it was brought up again)

Anyways...... it made for interesting reading (I am trying this new thing where I don't give my comment on all these 'opinion' type things :naughty:)

I know I was just about to suggest we turn it into a pictures and chat thread since people get annoyed when there's too much conversation in the Mikagasmic pics thread.

But it seems people would rather argue than try to find productive solutions.

Imo if they had let it go, it would be as it is now (not including the occasional opinion being offered).

The girls know what they did wasn't approved, so they've learnt their lesson etc. The thread has changed

Anyways, I shall chat to you apples later.

True. This is supposed to be an escape.

Yes Mika is my happy place and I would appreciate it if others didn't try to dictate how that's supposed to manifest itself. You can't mock him, you can't be sarcastic, you can't talk about his ass. You have to be "nice" and "positive" and "respect" him even though he couldn't care less what you think and has no idea in any case.

I'm sorry but Mika shaking his ass in a wizard hat makes me happy!!!

What would I do without the apples to keep me safe from all of that nice and positive respect?

Not this apple though. :bleh:

I'm not getting involved in anything but every so often I just like to reiterate my presence as the apple who cares perhaps too much re: what is posted about the Wiz.

Oh hey Jack. I need to go to bed.

You are open to wizard pics right? That's good enough for me.

And if you've got a problem with Mika shaking his ass you need to take it up with him. I didn't ask him to do it. It just makes me happy to watch.

I need to send you those FAQs too. What do you think about that one about touching his hair? I just kept it short, like - don't do it because he thinks it's weird. I didn't know if you wanted to go anywhere else with that.

I'm not into legislating what other people post here, as it's not my place. Some stuff makes me happy, other doesn't, and every so often I say so, but I'm not going to personally hound anyone for posting things I'm not into.

And I realize that a lot of the people I like on here have different standards on it all than me, which is just part of life. No one needs my permission to post anything, thank goodness. :bleh:

Yeah, the FAQ is fine simple--I just thought you might make it snarky if you wanted, but no need to go beyond the basics! I'll review it all anyway and add to it if I feel it needs it, so don't worry.

what i kinda don't agree with is that talking about him shaking his bum while he does it during HIS SHOW without anyone asking him is totally shocking (i don't care, i think these 3 seconds of the show aren't its highlight... i'm more a LT finale fan :bleh: ), but talking about him deleting his PRIVATE myspace account at the second it's done and thinking about spying his friends to know if yes or no he made a new myspace account seems totally normal :boxed: ... i'm sorry, but this is more of something i find immoral  and the thread goes on and on... hypocrits...

I agree with most of what you said there; You're right: it's hypocresy.

My 2 cents:

-I think that commenting on his bum or whatever he does on stage while his top is off, and drooling over pictures that he's clearly had no issue with the fact that they were taken (if he's taking his top off on stage for example!) is OK.

If Mika had an issue with people commenting on his body, then he shouldn't take his top off and prance around on stage like that, so in my eyes making comments about that is fine.

The problem is when these comments are derogatory, that is when it bothers me, or when they go "too far".

-The whole "evidence" thing has bothered me, I must admit.

I don't like commenting on that sort of thing, just because I can't help but thinking of the person behind it, who will be hurt if they read it.....

But as Jack said, it's something that you may disagree with but still like people who have a different opinion about it. Such is life.

-The whole "stalking private page/friends" thing has also majorly bothered me. Why can't people just leave things alone?

Humbug:naughty:

I do appreciate hearing other people's points of views on this subject and my conversations with Jack and others have made me a little more conscious of what I should and shouldn't be discussing on MFC.

There's some stuff on this site that makes me squeamish and even when I jump in at the start of some conversation that don't bother me, I start becoming uncomfortable as things get carried away. Everyone draws the line in different places and I think it's helpful to get feedback from others.

It just bothers me that no matter what the topic is people are fearful of being "yelled at" when they say or do something that is deemed unacceptable by some members of the forum. You can voice your disagreement without judging people and giving them public floggings.

I agree-

Feedback also works for me in that way, and I often find that if I have an opinion, after chatting to someone about it I may start seeing it in a slightly different way...

And also people WILL have different opinions, values, sense of humour, etc,so things do end up getting very complex in places like this. I suppose that it's about sort of finding a happy medium.

Easier said than done!

Well, I've been left feeling that I don't know what's acceptable and what's not.

You know, this thread was essentially founded on humour, shared humour.

Now I also am not sure who I can joke with in case of causing offence.

Yes, I must admit that I also find that.

Quite often I feel like certain things are accepted and condoned, and others which are far less "bad" or dodgy, get the chop immediately.

I really wonder if we'll ever achieve some sort of standard or guideline that can be equally applied, though I fear not.

Christine, I only just saw your "No-D Team Thread". Will there be a "No-A Team Thread" forthcoming?

hehe.. that's certain :mf_rosetinted:

My problem with this whole "think about your own 13-year-old niece/daughter/cousin" thing is that it wouldn't bother me. I look at things from the perspective of a 13-year-old girl not from the point of view of an overprotective parent.

I wouldn't have been corrupted and damaged looking at pictures of a fully clothed Mika so I just can't get that worked up over the idea. I don't want to argue with anyone over it because they're not my kids and it's not my place to decide what is or isn't appropriate for them.

Do people seriously believe that 13-year-olds don't know about penises? Come on.

my 2 cents.

like I posted, it's not that I'm offended or scandalised. I just don't care about the topic. :wink2:

I post and lurk the mikagasmic pics thread often: i agree lately there's too much blabbing and too little pics, but that what it always happens, doesn't it? as soon as someone posts a pic of mika, there they go with he's perfect, I'll marry him, I'll shag him, I'll be his wife, his sould mate.. blah blah. maybe it's normal since the age of many posters here is not that high.. :naughty:

I must admit I enjoy taking a look at several of his pics, cause ever since I met him, back in april, I sadly mind not only his music, but also his looks.. :sneaky2::naughty: I though, prefer a general view to the specialistic analyses of every inch of his body.. :naughty:

the ensemble can be quite enterteining, details can be boring to me, taken one by one. I'm not a surgeon.. :fisch:

Always joke with me please!

I won't be offended:wink2:

It is a pity if people have to start over thinking what they do and say all the time.... !

Oh dear i'm now thinking what to say!:naughty:

Better go and study!

You know Mika is a cool guy and i think he'd find all this stuff quite amusing.

The myspace stuff and trying to get phone numbers etc is a bit ott for me but i think if i was 18 or so i would probably be talking in a similar way.

When i was a Durani ! ( yes sorry i was!) we did not have internet/texts/emails to communicate by but we still manged to relay info via fan mags, phonecalls etc ...

We went and visited some of the band members parents in Birmingham, a commom pastime of some Duranies! This was fine, they showed us the gold disks they had in their halls and had a chat with us and took some photos and we left!:thumb_yello:

It was common knowledge to 'mega' fans that this was ok to do.

They answered the door to us and we got a little insight in to their lifes but that was it and nooone as far as i know went too far.:sneaky2:

I guess now it is so much easier to talk openly and publicly than it was before ( in the 80's !) but i think it always has been part of being a fan, esp for younger ones.

Look at it this way, the fact people do say silly things like let's hack his myspace and find his friends etc then at least he is aware of it and can do something about it! He has already said he has changed how he does things cause the press etc tried to call his friends for info etc ....

I think that is much more of a worry to him than some fans talking on a forum! The press are far more evil!

I doubt many pop stars really are able to do these things that us ordinary folk can as there are always people who will maybe go a bit far.

As for me (37 on Sunday!) I am quite surprised at my re emergence of being a 'fan' , but i think it's fun. ( If expensive and distracting at times!)

I think Mika is cool and has plenty of folk around him who love and protect him and we are really not impacting on him at all in any negative way.

He gets lots of negative stuff written and said about him from 'others', but we all do 'like' him, so i think its just quite normal to chat and make jokes etc ... we are just after all communicating, a natural thing for people to do !

He knows what he is doing, he is not that naive and i can't think anything much here would hurt him. He has far bigger worries i am sure and he says often how much he cares for his fans and you can just tell that when you see him too. I hope things don;t go mega mad for him over the next few years but i hope he has lots of success too. We can't wrap him up in cotton wool ( much as i'd like to try! ) , but it is sweet people care.

Well my goodness that was me 'not thinking'; and then i did !

Must go and study, keep chilled everyone

See you in London!!

25th and 26th :wub2:
