There's a story with a French song snipet but I can't seem to be able to download it :dunno:

Sorry I had to repost... 🫣 A little bit of the end was missing! The last note... always much too short! :lmfao:

Thank you Céline  :flowers2:

I had too much Mika stuff in my phone :teehee:

Can you make out what he's singing at all?

This is exciting that the French album could be nearly done! :excite:

French lyrics :
Alors respire
Tout ira bien
D'aller plus vite
On ne va pas plus loin
Pense à elle
Simplement

Translation:
So breathe
Everything will be alright
To go faster
We don't go any further
Think about her
Merely

Thanks! 😊

With the line "Think about her", makes me wonder who the song is about? 🤔

Or it could just be meant in general terms about a relationship?

(look at me already analysing this song and I've only heard a few lines 😅)

Get the feeling this will be a happy song!

I personally think if it would be about a romantic relationship he would rather sing “pense à lui” :biggrin2: but of course it could be concerning anything! Maybe even a friendship.

Or maybe it’s about his mum?

That was my first thought when I read "think about her". Maybe it's about the process of grief? I guess we'll only find out when he shares more of the song, it's really hard to tell from that little snippet.

Is his voice autotuned? Anyway the song doesn't sound happy to me, but rather bittersweet.

The literal translation is 'think about her' but in French 'elle' could also refer to any concept which word is feminine (for example what he did in Ma Jeunesse)

Wait, this doesn’t narrow it down… at all!

:lol3:

(I think “brie” masculine? So @mellodyand @krysadyat least we could exclude that one :biggrin2:)

Yes, it can be her, his mom.

We need to wait for more lyrics.

But it can be like a piece of advice from his mom:

"Slow down. Doing faster it doesn't mean to go farther". If you feel lost just think about her ( her advice). And everything will be ok.

At first I thought it was happy, but after repeat listens I'm getting "Me, Myself" vibes - it'll be ok but we've been through sadness to get here.

But really, it's too short to make any real guesses. Just love hearing his voice! :cloud: And it's catchy. Of course!

Just to note, merely is usually used in a negative or dismissive way eg - "it's merely a small delay", "it's merely worth getting out of bed" etc.

I'd say it's more "simply" or "just" - as in, just think of her, or simply think about her.

Or, its "think about her" and the memory is of her telling them "simplement". Could even be a dual play on the meaning - Simply think of her, and think of her saying simplement.

Can't believe the discussion and theories from a 10 second clip!! :lol3:

Exactly, this goes well with what I wanted to write - I was thinking about what "to go faster we don't go any further" could refer to, and that it might be about overthinking. You'll move ahead faster if you don't let your thoughts go any further. And in this context I was thinking, maybe "elle" refers to music? He said in interviews that music is his mistress and the piano is his girlfriend, so maybe he sings about how music helps him. So now I even have a title theory for this song, "La Musique"! :biggrin2:

Btw, listening on my PC with headphones, his voice doesn't sound autotuned to me anymore, it's just the loss of sound quality between the speakers in the studio, Mika's phone, Instagram, and my phone that made it sound like this at first. :teehee: And the electronic instruments/keyboard sound they're using.

Don't worry - I bet when we hear the whole song it will be about something completely different :naughty:
