AMAZING NIGHT! I counted 20 songs including twinkle twinkle little star 😉 which was part of the Grace Kelly intro.

And it seemed like Big Girl, Love Today and Happy Ending were all 15 mins long!!!

A show like none I've ever seen. He gave us so much and the audience absolutely ate up every last drop. He could barely leave the stage at the end .... he was just soaking it all up ...

Seriously so perfect and amazing. I will post a longer report sometime soon 💜

Random thought since we were talking about playbacks in another review thread...

I was watching a clip of Moi, Andy et Paris where he stopped singing because of the rainbow surprise and I couldn't hear recorded backing vocals in that one (just Max's voice). So either he uses them differently depending on the day or generally not as much as the other clip made me think ;)

Anyway, the fanaction was wonderful and brilliantly done!!

Hi,

I'm sorry but my Lyon video was just removed from YouTube for copyright infringement by Universal Music Group. :tears: I just received a warning and I don't know how to appeal? This may do the same thing for Paris Bercy, and if I receive several warnings, my YouTube channel may close, which of course I don't want. Does anyone know what to do in this specific circumstance please?

Thank you for your help.

We saw Mika in concert at the Accor Arena in Paris: our opinion!

A child of the 80s and former collector of 2-track CDs, he developed a passion for music very early on, particularly English pop and French song, of which he became an expert.

Last night, Mika stormed the stage of the Accor Arena in Paris as part of his "Apocalypse Calypso Tour". Between yesterday's hits and today's pop songs, the singer was overflowing with energy and mischief, offering a colorful and feel good show. We were there, we’ll tell you!

Last night, Mika returned to the Accor Arena in Paris, four years after his last concert in this ideal arena for grandiose shows. That's good ! As part of his "Apocalypse Tour", to present live the songs from his latest album in French "Que la tête fleurisse aussi", the singer put his bags in a packed room, ready to explode the colors and good vibes, as usual. It's just after 8:30 p.m. when the lights go out, disturbing music resonates and two creepy eyes pierce the pit thanks to two projectors. The enormous curtain opens and a luminous cage then sits in the middle of the stage. In a red suit, with wings on his back, Mika blurs the lines between angel and demon before making the crowd jump with his song "Bougez", inaudible on record but designed to open a show with fervor, it must be admitted!

A devastating second part

With his legendary enthusiasm, Mika gives himself without counting as he releases himself under the lightning and his four musicians set the rhythm with chords that could not be more electric! With this rather crazy introduction, the show promises to be mind-blowing. But the tension drops with "Apocalypse Calypso", "Talk About You" or "Sweetie banana", not really injected with the same energy. However, in front of his 16,000 spectators, including “the enfants terribles of the pit”, the mischievous artist has fun, dances like crazy, ignoring judgment, even suggests that we sing with our butts, and proves in passing that his reputation as a showman is not a legend. “Outside, it's a ####ing Monday” chants Mika, inviting everyone to let go and forget everything while two fans dressed as giant bananas stand out in the stands. Fortunately, after a "Yo Yo" which suddenly plunges Bercy into the middle of a rave party on acid, the concert takes on another dimension when "Underwater" brings everyone together, the touching "Jane Birkin" resonates, and especially "Relax (Take It Easy)", a timeless hit which gives a real impetus to a second part that is much more devastating.

In a stunning new sequined costume, Mika stirs up Monday night fever by jumping into the air during each “Relax”, while the colors of the rainbow merge with statues on the giant screens. The crowd obviously takes up the cult chorus so that the party never stops. It's not "She tells me" that will relieve the pressure since the dandy in sweat brings a handful of fans on stage (including two dressed as bananas!) to dance with him for a deliciously crazy moment. They all begin to carry the artist - hilariously - by the arms and legs, to make him whirl around. The sequence with the enormous "Big Girl (You Are Beautiful)" - where Mika takes an impressive crowd bath in the pit and chants "Bercy you are beautiful" - "Grace Kelly", then "C'est la vie ", which sees the singer landing from the ceiling on a sublime light platform "Club Apocalypso" and jets of sparks, or the furious "Love Today", begins a most explosive end to the show. After a solemn "Happy Ending", Mika returns with a somewhat wise "Any Other World", before leaving us with "We are Golden", the last burst of brilliance from a free and fanciful artist in an excess of confetti, pyrotechnic effects and love.

Teeming with ideas, which sometimes have difficulty channeling themselves, like a setlist that goes a little in all directions, the concert offered last night by Mika at the Accor Arena nevertheless remains a masterclass of freedom and positive waves. In addition, the bond he created with the audience is undeniable, giving rise to superb moments such as when he brings fans on stage in complete relaxation or when he discovers, touched, the rainbow which sweeps Bercy thanks to colored stickers placed on the flashes of phones. In these difficult times, here is a supercharged show that does good!

Celine. Usually Mika songs have copyright but they are allowed to be posted (I mean concert versions) on YouTube.

But I had a problem with Zodi theme at the end of the show - when Mika and his musicians make a bow.

When I posted a separate short video I received a warning and YouTube blocked it.

So I suppose that if you post songs separately it's not a problem - the videos are not monetized but are not blocked nor have any restrictions.

So maybe your video has been removed because of this short instrumental part from Zodi and Tehu?

Okay I wrote a very long gig report. These help me remember the show so I apologize in advance about all the stupid details included. I just want to remember this night forever ya know :tears:

Here goes:

--

The MFC special group made the whole experience so perfect. While we were waiting outside the venue Andy came around and hung out while the film guy (Adam) got some footage. I was happy that Andy feels comfortable to spend some time around us like that. MFC treats Mika and his people with respect 🫶

Entry into the venue was calm and relaxed and it was actually magical walking into the dark, empty arena. So quiet and the only light was from the beams of a long line of guards showing us the way to the front.

We got to see the "behind the scenes" setup which mainly involved a poor team of guys struggling to get the white sheet over the big cage for like 15 minutes 😂Then they shut the curtain and waiting began!

Something must have gone differently than past Bercy shows because it seemed like the GA Floor entry wasn't absolutely insane. Everyone walked calmly and there was no pushing. Venue gets an A+ from me!

DJ did a great job of warming up the crowd. I was surprised at how empty the venue still was when she left the stage around 8:10... but then I remembered that French dinner time doesn't start until 7pm! By the time Mika took the stage things were filled up.

The show begins with a thrumming low bass ... a team swirls around the cage and throws of the sheet to reveal... the fire bird! The man himself! Myself and Veronika who was next to me were screaming our heads off.

The setlist was extensive and the show was long so I won't go song by song but rather provide some impressions.

I was so excited to hear the new songs that I really wasn't looking forward to the "classics" (Grace Kelly, Relax etc) but I was surprised by how much of a highlight those songs were for me. Mika has added to the arrangements, gets the crowd involved creatively, and still captures the magic of the original performance. I don't know if Love Today will ever be a highlight song for me but it was so fun seeing the fans on stage and the whole crowd going crazy.

Mika is such an athlete! He did the iconic Mika jump during Relax like 6 times 😂 And he was SPRINTING around the stage and dancing the whole time while belting it out. Seriously the energy level was unreal and the crowd reflected it right back.

His dancing is so silly. I am grateful Mika never really learned how to dance in a normal way ... and that he has created an audience and a show that's safe enough for him to move however he wants with no self consciousness. This is also what I love about his music. Mika is always making music for himself and sharing it with us. He isn't trying to write an album that will sell or be popular. He's building his own world and inviting us into it. This makes his shows (and our relationship with him as an artist) feel intimate and real. Like we're in the WAG bedroom and we're all making it a dance party!

There was a lot of talking between songs and I hope someone can translate because I understand like 5% of it...

He really leaned into the audience participation on this tour. Big Girl he jumped into the crowd and made his way to the big van structure which was about halfway through the crowd, then hopped up on there to keep performing in his yellow suit. Happy Ending and Underwater we had a singing part.

Mika is also constantly engaging with fans in a personal way. He's pointing at people, he's holding up a heart and it really feels like he's looking at you, seeing you, and recognizing you. I am 100% convinced he saw me and knew me and knew that I came from the US and remembers me even though this is obviously farfetched 😂 He doesn't need to interact with the crowd in such an intimate way -- the show would be just as impressive -- but he does it and that makes it so special. He has such love and respect for the fans and we are so lucky to have him.

During Moi Andy et Paris, the crowd lit up with the rainbow in each section stretching around the arena. I think it took Mika about 30 seconds at least to recognize it, and he was so overcome when he did that he stopped singing and covered his mouth. The visual was so powerful and beautiful.

It was fun experiencing songs that are really popular here and really hitting with the crowd that don't get a similar reaction in the US. Underwater is such a big hit here and Elle Me Dit brought down the house-- two very different energies but it was cool to be among the crowd where everyone knew these songs. I've never felt that before!

Another big difference from a US tour: the production! The stage elements and motion, Mika's SEVEN suits (seriously, how does he change clothes that fast??), the pyrotechnics and the confetti cannon! We were so close to the fireworks that we could feel the heat whenever they went off and were momentarily blinded. The experience was immersive and over the top! When he ran out wearing the glitter suit I remember thinking "Mika is so extra for this" and then something else would happen 😅. The whole experience was So Extra! But Extra Mika is something we can all get behind.

I kept thinking about Mika circa 2008 and what his shows were like then. T-shirt/Converse era Mika drumming during Love Today and playing covers because he didn't have enough music to fill a set. And thinking about how he's built a career that enables him to take that artistic vision and bring it to life. He is consistently making great music and giving us fans an incredible window into his world. I'm so happy to have been a part of this journey ❤️

This is the only show I'll see on this tour and probably the only show I'll see in Europe for a very long time. It would be easy to feel disappointed because I'd love to experience the whole thing again. But I am so grateful that I got to be there in Bercy. The show was perfect. It's a huge stage and Mika hit every note.

Au revoir er bon soir! Kira, out!!

I have the feeling that the use of backing vocals changes in between the concerts of the tour. There are some songs where they are used quite frequently (e.g. relax, sweetie banana or feels like fire) and in others they seem to be more flexibly used (moi, andy et Paris, grace kelly or love today)

It's especially different what the mixing ratio of live vocals and backing tracks is like from gig to gig. Sometimes he doesn't sing the very difficult parts and relies on the backing vocals for them, sometimes they sing together ;-) and sometimes they are actually only backing vocals (or not there at all :)).

I have the feeling that over the course of the tour, Mika has relied on his live singing more and and more compared to the beginning which makes me very happy as i love to hear his voice as much as possible. :)

Concert Review by Le Parisien

leParisien.fr

https://www.leparisien.fr/culture-loisirs/musique/il-ne-nous-reste-qua-voler-le-show-multicolore-et-debride-de-mika-a-laccor-arena-26-03-2024-3EJYWBMG4VA3JE37GPJSBU23YE.php

(Google Translation) :uk:

“All we have to do is fly”: Mika’s multi-colored and unbridled show at the Accor Arena

Golden cage, winged piano, pop outfits, crowd bath, explosion of party favors... The brand new quadra Mika, the most French of the Anglo-Saxon pop stars, gave a colorful and colorful 2h15 show on Monday evening at the Accor Arena in Paris. energized in front of nearly 16,000 crazy fans.

In the wake of his latest album, “Que ta tête fleurisse toujours”, his first entirely in French, Mika began his international tour in France. Sixteen dates in Zénith and a seventeenth at the Accor Arena, before returning to festivals this summer.

Proof of his great popularity, the most Francophile of Anglo-Saxon singers and his “Apocalypse Calypso Tour” easily filled the large Parisian hall on Monday March 25 in the evening, with nearly 16,000 fans, often coming in disguise.

Mika announced the color to his audience in his record. After a more introspective and dark album, it’s time to party. When the curtain falls, a bird appears in a cage. But not a partridge of the year. The bird is red and the cage golden.

Mika is still a showman

An imp with outstretched wings, Mika opens the ball with two new high-energy songs, the aptly named “Dansez” and “Apocalypse Calypso”. Its cage opens in two, releasing the bird, which flies in all directions, in unison with the Parisian arena. His four musicians, all in pink costumes, surround him on mobile platforms.

“Hi Paris! Have you understood the contract, asks the singer, already sweating. I start my scan of Bercy, to identify the bubbles of madness. And I'm counting on you to do anything, the enfant terribles of the pit. It's a ####ing Monday outside. But in front of you, there is never a Monday. »

The standing pit is already in turmoil, arms raised. She jumps for joy on the funny “Sweetie Banana” and the afro “Feels Like Fire” with South African singer Nomfundo Moh and “Relax (Take It Easy), swung in a colorful setting, with a giant screen that broadcasts psychedelic images, monkeys, flowers, Greek statues… Mika is still a showman: “Are you okay, my bananas? »

A tribute to Jane Birkin

The first quiet moment is “Underwater”. “This song has a special connection with this room, it belongs to this room and this room belongs to the public,” he recalls, making the chorus sing at the top of his lungs until the last row of the stands. Thrills guaranteed. The second is “Jane Birkin”, a tribute to his latest album which he begins with the melody of “Je t’aime moi non plus” on the piano.

During “Andy”, another new track, his fans surprise him by creating a multi-colored fresco with their smartphones and small pieces of paper of different colors. “Oh ####,” he blurted out when he discovered it. You've created a rainbow! »

He takes the opportunity to announce to the public that the concert is being filmed. No less than 47 cameras for a future prime on TF 1. “I want France, Europe to see how beautiful you are” he says before launching “She tells me” then “Big girl (You are beautiful ), and plunge into the “pit of enfant terribles”.

He crosses it by jumping - we can see him in the jumping crowd thanks to the bouquet of flowers that he raises above him - and climbs onto an ice cream truck topped with a large sun, like in a pop work by Lichtenstein.

With this ode to difference, he pays tribute to a friend, “Queen Big”, and transforms Bercy into “Butterfly Lounge”, a nightclub in Los Angeles “which smelled of beer, donuts and where anything was possible”.

“I wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

His “old” hits come out in electro mode. The excitement goes up a notch, as do the choruses. For “Grace Kelly,” Mika is on piano. A white grand piano topped with a wing. He is in a white suit, it must be his tenth of the evening.

With his hair messy, he finishes his hit standing on the stool, then on the piano. “C’est la vie” begins with a nod to Madonna’s “Vogue,” and “Love Today” begins with New Order’s “Blue Monday.” He climbs on the neon sign of an old nightclub, Club Apocalypso.

He brings up fans, including two dressed as bananas, and dances with them. Lying on the ground, he lets them do the show. And they take him at his word, carry him by the arms and legs and whirl him around...

He chants “Love love love,” like an anti-gloom mantra. “We sang with our butts. All we have to do is fly,” he tells the audience before the explosive encores. And this last confidence. “I wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have always brought me out of the dark, in my personal life and in general. »

Final obviously golden outfit for “We are Golden”, last hit as a final bouquet after 2h15 of show. Shirtless and sweating, Mika dances with the flames, party favors and confetti explode above the pit.

The curtain falls, the lights come back on, Mika returns with a big clown mouth to greet and thank his audience for the energy shared. It’s “a ####ing Monday” outside. But inside, it was Monday night fever.

Wow, I have to say I surprised myself this time. I came back home yesterday from Paris. I managed to upload my videos on YouTube and today I wrote a report on my website!

So I can share it with you here :original:

And finally the day has come. 25th of March. The day of the concert in Paris at the Accor Arena, known for years as Bercy.

I admit that I was really looking forward to this concert.

In 2019, in December, I chose a concert in Lille that took place a few days earlier. Plus, Bercy was scheduled just before Christmas. Later, of course, I regretted it. This concert was also filmed and later shown many times on French television. One of the important moments was a fan action with paper airplanes thrown on stage during the song Paloma. Mika had to hold back his tears very hard. For all of us, this moment is a historic moment. There was also a second fan action that did not take place. The plan was to create a rainbow in the seated area using sheets of A4 paper in six colors. Unfortunately, Alias - the agency organizing Mika's concerts in France - found out that the fans wanted to bring hundreds of sheets of colored paper into the venue and absolutely did not agree to it. Security began confiscating reams of paper at the entrance to the facility. The Fan Club was even threatened with being charged for additional cleaning fees. Generally speaking, the atmosphere was heavy. Fortunately, the action with the planes was successful and now everyone can watch it on TV (or on social media).

Why am I mentioning this, you ask? Because this year we managed to make a rainbow. This time there was no risk of cluttering the facility as we used small pieces of colored paper to cover the lights on our phones. And we chose a special moment - the song Moi, Andy et Paris.

I handled the purple and blue sectors. Over an hour of walking from seat to seat and explaining to people what was going on and how to behave. But I'm telling you, it was worth the sacrifice :-)

After thirty seconds, Mika noticed what happened and stopped singing. You are beautiful! - he exclaimed.

And at the end of the song he asked us to hide the lights and darken the room. "Today we are being recorded and I would like that France and even Europe to see this rainbow that appeared in the seated area. Hide the lights and get ready for a rainbow explosion.... In Paris, when you paint a rainbow, it looks like THIS! !!!!!"

And then we showed our colorful lights :-)

Wasn't it beautiful?

Max's partner - Chloe took such a beautiful photo.

It is true that the red and orange colors are not very exposed, but it was difficult to find the right number of people sitting in those sectors who could hand out colored paper.

But let's go back to the beginning of the concert. This time I had a seated ticket. In the front row, but quite far from the stage. This gave me a good view of the entire venue. I saw the stage, I saw two large screens showing close-ups of Mika, and in the back of the audience there was a "burning jeep" that we know from the C'est la vie music video.

Since it was my fifth concert, I could concentrate on watching the entire show. Lights, screens, audience. I tried to film the moments when Mika speaks or improvises, because this is what makes the concert unique and special.

The setlist was "standard", i.e. 19 songs, which Mika performed at most gigs on this tour.

Of course, I got chills down my spine at the beginning of the show, when a covered cage is brought onto the stage. Music that creates tension and anxiety: what is hidden under the white cloth?

Of course, everything I recorded can be found on my YouTube channel. I'm sorry that the image is not very stable, but I felt obliged to prove to Mika that the "seated" audience can also move their four letters :-) And there was so much going on around!

I will only comment on some moments. (oops, it's much more than some moments :bleh: )

Underwater - Mika said that this song has a special connection with this place. And this place belongs to the audience. Then he joked that he hadn't said hello yet: Good evening, seated part (I don't know if there is an English word? in French it's gradins).

Of course, he wanted us to get up. He didn't have to wait long. We not only stood up, but also started stomping and shouting! The seated part is waking up, Mika commented with a laugh.

Mika: What we are about to do has almost become a tradition thanks to this venue (I admit that I was afraid that Mika would ask us to turn on the lights on our phones and our fan action would fail. Fortunately, he meant singing together)

It's your turn. One, two, one two three.... Underwater!!!!!!

And at this point, the seated audience is usually not up to the task and can barely be heard. But......

Mika: I admit that... It would be better for me if it didn't work out for you... but you sing very well, especially up there.
Hello, enfants terrible from the pit - Mika turned to the people standing in front of the stage. Are you ready? One, two, one two three... Underwater!!!!!!!!

Of course, enfants terrible always sing very loudly :-)

Mika: See? But that's normal. To sing, you need to use your mouth, throat, belly, but also... buttocks. Like those people far over there! They understand this well (Mika pointed to the people standing far at the back of the venue), and buttocks that rest on comfortable chairs cannot work well and sing well. (Well, I guess everyone got the hint and got up from their chairs)

Small venue or large venue, with the song Big Girl, Mika takes Max and they go into the audience. It was the same in Bercy, equipped with a "burning jeep" at the back of the pit area on a hydraulic lift. When Mika reached it, he climbed onto it and the car started up. He told us a story of the Butterfly Lounge then he took way back to the stage, cutting through the group in front of him again.

I was very curious what Mika would do this time during the song Elle Me Dit. It's always a pure improvisation :-) So it started with reading the panels prepared by the fans standing closer to the stage. Mika got an invitation for a kebab. He didn't want to read some of the inscriptions aloud.

Finally, he decided that he was tired and would invite a few fans on the stage. Then he sat down and told the chosen ones to "work" :-) And just like it happened in Montpellier, at one point the fans grabbed his arms and legs and started spinning around. It was enough for Mika to feel better, get a vitamin injection and be able to dance again :-)

The audience was very active. And when Mika started playing an old song known in England as "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", people quickly started to sing along. Mika likes when we are active :-)

Then it was time for C'est la vie. Yes, you have to watch this piece from a distance to appreciate every detail of the performance: the play of light, the music, the Club Apocalypso neon sign and... Mika standing on the neon sign, which slowly goes down, twinkling disco-like and sending out streaks of sparks from time to time.

You absolutely have to watch at least this short clip of Happy Ending. I started recording towards the end, when Mika improvises or tells a story. This time I saw something that you usually don't see from the front rows. A forest of hands with fingers arranged in the shape of a heart. It wasn't only the first few rows. It was almost an entire standing area. As well as many people in the seated area. I honestly admit that I had tears in my eyes. This is the message of "little bit of love"...

Mika sang very cleanly and very long the high notes. This year I love listening to Happy Ending live again.

We are slowly approaching the end of the concert. Love Today.

The day before, Nina and I were wondering whether Mika would wear his black suit with blue feathers. During several recent concerts, he wore a white "sailor" suit for this song.

And yes! Love Today begins and Mika appears on stage in a feathered costume. We will fly with him. This song always triggers incredible joy and ecstasy in me.

Sorry, but the moment Mika asked to turn off the lights and counted to three, I turned off the camera to jump and dance with everyone present in Bercy.

Sorry, but I'll add a video from Any Other World here. When viewed from a distance, this piece also takes on a new dimension. I've already recorded it several times and I wasn't supposed to do it in Paris, but when I saw the visualizations it forced me to turn on my camera.

We Are Golden closes the entire show. I've seen this performance many times. This song is one of Mika's flagship songs. This time the package included not only fireworks but also a background visualization and pink confetti!!!!! This moment reminded me of my impressions from the concert in Arena di Verona in 2022, where tons of confetti fell on us, making us ecstatic :-) Now it was similar.

I am very glad that this concert was recorded. It will  be wonderful to watch it on TV again, or maybe on DVD? It was a show that mirrored most of the shows on the Apocalypse Calypso Tour. So if you've been to one of them, it will be a beautiful memory. And if you couldn't be at any of the concerts, this recording will show you all the best that Mika has offered us this year.

We have now a series of performances outside France ahead. And finally, on April 16, the concert in Brest which was postponed from March 7. And then there are festivals.

I'm so sorry to hear this :crybaby: :huglove:I think you should try to upload both concerts to vimeo they are better than youtube and also maybe get in touch with Antoine at mikawebsite who could maybe host it abroad for you. Maybe Eriko could upload them on VK for you. Live music is legal normally but youtube can be a pain. Try to save your videos on a hard drive and a google drive online just in case youtube removes them. Big hugs to you
