1. Have a wonderful time all of you, I look forward to all the reports:thumb_yello:
2. Interesting interview - so at the beginning of his career he went on and on about how he hated labels. Looks like now he's going to go on and on about how he is comfortable and happy being gay Nah, just teasing, I am glad he is comfortable and happy now:teehee:
3. Clearest version of the acoustic performance:thumb_yello:
4. I still think he says Well if god is a priest and the devil a slut Well that's a reason for nothing Because in the Heaven video he shakes his head a little on nothing - I know you all think it's "loving" but why does he shake his head:aah:
5. Yes here it is: http://www.mikafanclub.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17811 so I will close this one, and you can carry on chatting over there!
6. @Jazzy, fabulous report! Loved it! I felt like you needed one more paragraph - the "Oh yes, and I got to go backstage and chat with Mika" paragraph...did that actually happen? And I like the "rapture in Heaven" part of the other review too. But especially this: "In fact, the audience was more or less euphoric for the entire hour and a half" .... the Mika gig we know and love is back:wub2:
7. I agree Suzie. I do think there are some people who can pick up the "vibe" of another person faster than others: personality, functionality, and maybe even sexuality. And I do think that hanging round with a variety of people in life helps you get better at perfecting the skill of picking up other people's vibes, and also of course, managing your own interactions with people. It's like a "gut instinct". For some of us there are glaringly obvious pointers for Mika's sexuality, for others it may need a definitive statement. But I do see that last night's dedication was really a declaration of love for his partner, and to feel the freedom to do that now, must be a big relief for Mika. I felt that coming through in the song very strongly. As I said before, I hope the special man was there to hear such a heartfelt song:wub2: I think back to how he said life changed after Paloma's accident. Everyone in his family and close friends would have been so profoundly affected by the sheer horror of that trauma, and the pain that she suffered and probably still suffers. Reassessing what is important in life, what makes you happy, relationship issues .... maybe all this led to him to a point of freedom, to this song becoming his "freedom statement" and maybe the man he loves was an integral part of him reaching that point.
8. I wonder when Asia dates will be out if he is really going in November. Probably his same dates as 2009 - Japan the very end of November... who knows
9. Oh you'd be first on the guest list:thumb_yello: Thank you people who posted the videos. The funny thing was, I was literally holding my breath right through the introduction, seeing him pacing around, looking so nervous, then looking so happy and proud after he'd dedicated the song to "the man I love". I finally breathed! And the whole song took on a completely different meaning for me once he'd said that, and as someone else posted before, it was like LOVE was coming out of his every pore I'm just really glad he's so happy and in lerv:wub2:
10. I think I cracked the last two mystery lines! Well if god is a priest and the devil a slut Well that's a reason for nothing And that cut off bit at the end is "Love! Thank God you found me"
11. Sounds like a very special gig in a special place that meant a lot to Mika It make me really happy to hear that he dedicated the song to the man he loves. I hope the man might have been there at the gig to hear such an amazing and loving statement ...but at least MFC will post the video of TOOL and he will get to see the moment on video... I feel all warm and fuzzy inside now.
12. This is fantastic that you can all be Mika's hairdressers, and Robi, I agree about the hat - MIKA TAKE IT OFF!! Also it will be interesting to hear the difference between your first impressions now and then when you hear the songs again - Mika's songs have a habit of growing on us, even when we don't like the first listen. I remember I didn't like Rain very much, but when he tweaked it around, it became one of my live favourites. So the MYH version was the same one you heard already or different? Emily sounds really fun.... I really miss Mika on this side of the world. You Europeans are very lucky
13. Yes, I think I will love this live myself too, one day in the distant future:wub2: It's very beautiful.
14. Wow this would be a new style of doing things! Who are the lucky 8?
15. How interesting he mentions Hedwig and the Angry Inch (not Itch!) - who wrote the original Origin of Love song - which is apparently based on Aristophane's speech from Plato's Symposium
16. We are all dreaming of the "I hope so"s in Mika world. Including me. An AUSTRALASIAN tour would be good Mika.
17. How fantastic Kath! I hope he enjoys reading it!
18. It really is a huge privilege, as Guy said. I hope the random FB and Universal fans can appreciate the privilege. And Sara it is amazing that he is finally relaxing and doing this for fans.
19. This is like CHRISTMAS for the diehard Mika fan I know you will all love every minute of it, and I can't wait to hear allllllll about it. I wish I lived somewhere on the other side of the world. Or that Mika might consider a listening party in Australia HAHAHAHAHAHA yeah right, like that would ever happen. I feel like a facebook spammer "MIKA come to...."
20. Imagine if he'd been discovered then...like Bieber... and then he grew another half a metre or so....
21. And he's the one who always said that people shouldn't say break a leg before a show....wasn't he saying toi toi toi before?
