Absolutely adore this, the grandness, the softness, the burst of anger, it took my breath a bit. I think it might be my favourite so far!

Also - who are these unknown people calling him, and how do we get that number?? :lmfao:

I think this is my fave so far! :swoon:

I was sure it was a waltz rhythm but just got told that it isn't... however, it sounds like one to me, and I LOVE this! The rhythm, the melody, the instrumentation, his voice, absolutely stunning! :wub2: And the topic as well, this mix of love and anger, it's relatable in every long-term relationship I think - not even just romantic ones, but also with family members or close friends.

I wasn't wrong when I wanted to hear this one the most, when he first asked on Tiktok which song we want! :wub2:

I'm not sure of every thing , but it seems to be :

Quand même , quand même ......

Je sais que je t'aime , je sais que je t'aime

Amour magique ,amour qui s'aime (sème ?)

Amour tragique , amour quand même

Toi qui me laisse, toi qui me peine

Logic - you leave me, you lead me (you guide me)

At the first listening I understood "toi qui me benne"  :naughty:

In slang language that means to throw in a trash bin :teehee:

🥺

For me this pulls right at the heart strings. I have a feeling I will be able to relate 100% to this song and I can't wait to hear it now on Friday.

I kinda want to know more about it, Mika seems to be a little more vague with this one compared to the other video snippets he's shared.

Anyhow, I totally agree. I also said that I wanted to hear this one from the start, and suspected that it might be THE song for me. And from just this bit we've heard and Mika's description, I think I was right. I don't even need the words for this one - I just feel it. I can't wait to hear it all properly. :mikalove:

JE SAIS QUE JE T'AIME "Magical love, love that loves itself Tragic love, love nonetheless You who leaves me, you who saddens me You who hurts me even though I love you And I love you more than myself And I don't want life to hurt you May life forgive us even if god abandon us"

I reposted the translation by blooming boy  on twitter

This song reduces me to tears. I had to stop listening because my husband is around. It breaks my heart. I'm pretty sure that is the song about his mum. It is utterly beautiful and totally heartbreaking.
I'll go somewhere to be alone to listen more to the lyrics now

It IS a viennese waltz ;)

I actually wonder if the rhythm changes... I hear a waltz, but the part with "je sais que je t'aime" throws me out of the 1-2-3 count. Maybe it's just me, lol! 😅

And how does Mika manage to pronounce this "je sais que je t'aime" so fast?!

OK, this one is just wonderful, too. :wub2:  Probably one of my fav too, the entire songs will determine it. Anyway, this album seems like a real gem for slow-paced songs at least. That's rare there's absolutely no snippet I'm dubitative about, but that's the case for the moment and the wait until friday (well, thursday night) seems more and more unbearable. And me who was a little afraid about an entire french album because I usually largely prefer english ones... My fears are definitely washed away...

I don't think I'm wrong hearing oriental instruments ? Anyway, this snippet is really beautiful :swoon:

Try bringing the sound more to the front of the mouth, between the tip of the tongue and the teeth, and keeping it light. Only the "qu" sound needs to come from the throat. Voila!

I hear this:

Quand même
Quand même
Je sais que je t'aime
Je sais que je t'aime
Amour magique
Amour qui sème
Amour tragique
Amour quand même
Toi qui me laisse
Toi qui m'emmène/ me mène
Toi qui me blesse
Même si je t'aime
Et je t'aime plus que moi même
Et je veux pas que la vie te blesse
.....................................................
Je sais que je t'aime
Je sais que je t'aime
Je sais que je t'aime

Que la vie nous pardonne
si Dieu nous abandonne

You think so? My first thought when he introduced the song was that it's about Andy, kind of a follow up to Moi, Andy et Paris. Also this line about life and God, it made me think of Origin of Love. But yeah, maybe you're right. We might see it on Friday, or not... depending on whether Mika made the lyrics more personal or more general.

I know what you mean but no, I don't think the rhythm changes. That whispered repeated phrase is just thrown in there a bit weirdly like a countermelody almost.

Anyway these lyrics are killing me.

"May life forgive us if God abandons us": After all this time, 8 years after NPIH, he is still bargaining with god?! That breaks my heart.

I can't wait to hear the whole song!!!!!!!!!!

The French language which plays on the sounds - some words you pronounce in the same way but you write it differently and the meaning is different - it's a poetry for my ears.

In this part we can see the loving part. What about anger? We have to wait till Friday.

Amour that sows
Tragic love
Love, all the same
You who are leaving me

I don't want life to hurt you

I think it's because the song is about his mum and in front of such a situation even if you are not a believer you kind of hope for a miracle.
