You're not saying this to me but I have to answer: no, you're not forgettable at all, I loved meeting you! :wub2:

Thank you Monie :huglove: I enjoyed meeting you too :biggrin2: (And I'll post a vid of Carlos Acosta in action for you later if I can find one on youtube :thumb_yello:)

Poor Neiobi needs to adopt my strategy - don't attempt a list of people because there is always one you miss out :roftl:

You are forgiven :huglove: - I couldn't remember everyone - I didn't even try to list them :naughty:

 Not sure if that is a good thing or not :roftl: I caught the sun when I was in Suffolk - it was very hot and I was in areas without shade. I'm usually much paler :blush-anim-cl:

Helloooo, hellooo, helloooooooohoooooo...:woot_jump:

Wow, what an amazing time in London, meeting all you guys..

Freddie, Deb, Charlie, Mikasgal, Nikjass and all I´m forgetting right now: YOU ARE SOOOOOOOOOO AWESOME!!! :wub2:

Well, don´t have to mention much about the gig anymore, cause almost everything is said already, but I wanted to thank those 2 girls who are trying to get me on stage (Leator pullling me, those two pushing and still couldn´t make it..:lmfao:) I can imagine that they gived it up and went for it themselves..:roftl:

I made it by climbing a chair though..:mf_rosetinted:

So sorry for not saying goodbye to everyone but we were really in a hurry to get the last trains back to our hotel..:boxed:

Anyway, We really, really had such a good time that we are looking forward to the next one..:biggrin2:

First of all, let me say up front, that this was one amazing evening!

Not only did I get to hear Over My Shoulder LIVE for the first

time ever, I also heard Relax acoustic AND, unbelievably, Lonely

Alcoholic! I was beside myself. I really really enjoyed the show,

and had an absolutely awesome night in every way.

HOWEVER, other than mentioning the fact that he was on stage

performing, the rest of my report is actually relatively Mika-free.

First of all, I did NOT get any of the much-ballyhooed "eye contact."

In fact, because of where we sat, on the end of the front row,

I didn't see much of Mika's face at all -- mostly saw the back of his

beautiful head as he sat at the piano.

I didn't get any photos or videos, because I didn't bring my camera.

Which, again, given our position, is just as well. I would have had a

lot of photos of brown curls and a peachy-pink colored jacket.

And some amazing sparkly blue shoes! (I really did L-O-V-E those shoes -- they

were incredible!)

I didn't get to speak to him after the show, nor shake his hand, nor

even give him the small gift I had brought. Nope, no Mika face

time for me.

But then, how, you might wonder, did I manage to have such an amazing

evening? The answer is quite simple -- the MFC.

From the moment I arrived at Sadler's Wells, I began meeting MFCers who

I had previously only known as names on a computer screen.

It began when I spotted Blue Eyes (the original, Jules!)

and her hubby JesterKevin over

at a table. I marched right over and introduced myself, and we spent a

delightful while chatting and struggling to get my Mika rosette pinned

onto my bag. Thanks, Kev, for eventually coming through! :thumb_yello: And

thanks, Jules, for the small badge! You're both so lovely!

After that it was a whirlwind of MFC faces -- mostly new, but

some familiar faces I hadn't seen for a year or two! And I got to meet the amazing

Helen @ sandbag! In the flesh! She was just as lovely in person as she's

been to deal with via email -- seriously, the woman has just been

fantastic.

I roamed around the lobby before the show, randomly introducing

myself like it was one big cocktail party. It was wonderful to get

even just a few minutes with so many of you! In all, I counted that

I spoke to about 60 of the 92 MFCers who were there! Can you imagine?

I met everyone from some of the longest-timers like Tia and Kata to

some of the newest like childishlady! And everyone was so wonderful

and charming -- I was so thrilled to have the chance to say hello,

bonjour, and ciao! to so many of you from all over the world!

Once we finally took our seats at the venue, I turned around and

looked behind me, and down to the other end of the row, and all I

could see were familiar MFC faces (well, plus those of Imogen Heap and

much of Mika's family as well ;-) and I thought, Wow. Just freakin' wow.

It made me realize, as I said to Danika when she

was interviewing FD and me for Ingie's documentary, the MFC has become

about so much more than JUST Mika. Obviously, he's the main event, the

light at the end of all tunnels (or Chunnels, as the case may be), but

it's so fabulous to meet people from all over who share this

"thing" of ours! What a special group to belong to! Ooh, it gives me the

warm fuzzies. :blush-anim-cl:

The concert itself has already been described in detail, plus by now

you've seen the videos and pics, so I don't need to tell you that it

was an incredible performance. Mika's voice was sheer perfection,

the strings section was so unexpected and lovely, the shimmering

silvery staging just magical. There wasn't a moment that I felt things

were "off," not even when Mika made a few obvious flubs like when

he attempted Any Other World -- the entire performance was spectacular

and I'm running out of superlative adjectives but you get the idea.

It was f**in' fantastic! :biggrin2:

Every now and then during the show, I would look to my right

at Rose and Robi and Kata

and see nothing but smiles and jumping and clapping, then I'd look to

my left and see FD and Caz and bab and Christine and Mana and Sariflor

and Aurelien and and and ... you get the idea -- the joint was jumping

and if Mika didn't feel the MFC love bubbling up from under his feet then

he just wasn't paying attention!

I think this is the first of the four Mika gigs I've seen that I didn't

feel went too fast -- it lasted exactly the right amount of time.

That doesn't mean I wanted it to end -- of course not! But I didn't feel

like it was hurried at all -- we just had this amazing, almost leisurely

experience that we were able to sort of soak in for a while before

having to go back out into the cold, harsh reality.

After the show, there was a bit of confusion as to where Mika

would be coming out, and by the time we got there queue

was quite long. But it didn't matter to

me -- it was enough for me to just watch him walk down the long line,

smiling and signing and shaking hands, and seeing all the fans who'd

never had the chance to talk to him before... that was even better

for me than speaking to him myself... well, almost :wink2:

And all too soon he was gone, whisked off in his black car, leaving us

in darkness once again. Reminds me of an old Monty Python line that

went something like:

"Your majesty is like a jam donut -- your arrival gives us pleasure and

your departure only leaves us wanting more." :naughty:

Anyhow, I said goodbye to as many folks as I could and then went off to

have a chat with some of my fellow mods -- the first time we'd all

had the chance to spend some time together. I must say, I

still like them all enormously! :wub2:

I know some of you laughed when I said I was ticking off names on my

list, but I really did! And I SO want to give out a great big

SHOUT HELLO to the following MFCers who I met (or re-met) on Monday

evening -- you all made the evening such a memorable one for me!
