There is a disturbing YouTube vid of that song (I Wanna Be Your Dog), but I won't go into detail... But childish Christmas innocence does not spring to mind. I have heard it only from Bowie so far. However, when I first heard the song I recognised his voice but found it rather odd that he should sing such song.
