Hi everyone! I'm curious to know if anyone here in the US has gotten the CD - I originally pre-ordered it from Amazon (for $37 or something!) and then cancelled and ordered from CDwow.com (for $17). They sent me an e-mail confirming my order and my credit card has been charged. Now, when I go on CDwow.com and log in, it says I have no authorized orders! I sent them an e-mail, but just got back a generic reply. Has this happened to anyone else? Has anyone here seen the CD yet? Now when I go on Amazon, it says delivery is in 4-6 weeks! ugh... I can't wait much longer! I'm dying over here... MaryP

Is it possible to start a MIKA MP3 thread? If it's not allowed on this forum then, obviously, just say no. But MIKA is starting to gig all over the world...often doing covers of various songs, different/alternate versions of his songs and songs we are yet to hear. Just wondering if people start recording these or whatever then maybe they could be uploaded to one thread and share the MIKA loving. I have no idea if recording MIKA's shows or what not is legal or illegal. Never done it myself but I do know that it obviously goes on everywhere. Archive.org is dedicated to live recordings and seems legal. Anyways, let me know and any suggestions/ideas is coo…

Don't you think it's weird that Mika's music has so many identifiable influences and yet sounds so completely different to anything else? When listening to the album, I'm constantly spotting bits that remind me vaguely of other songs or other singers/bands, yet the overall sound is distinctively new! I can't quite work out how he manages to do this and to have such a talent at only 23 is totally amazing.

In the 11 January issue of Boyz magazine (Mika on the cover), Mika is interviewed... Boyz Mag: You're making huge waves in the States - considering how conservative Americans can be, that's quite a feat! Mika: It's really strange! And MTV's using 'Love Today' to re-launch their channel, and I'm booked on The Tonight Show, which is practically unheard of for an artist who hasn't released a single yet. Has anyone heard about Mika being on The Tonight Show? Has it happened?

Is the lollipop girl a relation of Mika? I see two girlie Penniman's taking credit for the vocals and an Audrey Moukataff. I know he wrote the song for his lil sister - is it her... ? Quite an age gap... I guess it's possible, I suppose.

I think I've heard Grace Kelly everywhere now. It was playing in the background on Cleo Rocos' BB best bits and they've just said on the radio 'bo nhw'n mynd i chwara Grace Kelly wan' (It's welsh radio- We're gonna play Grace Kelly now) Even my nan has made a comment that they play it at the same time every day, I think she thinks it's some kind of sign.... A sign that Mika-madness is huge? I think so ....

I'm just curious to know whether any other Queen fans out there feel a bit guilty about loving Mika so much? I have loved Freddie Mercury since I first watched the Bohemian Rhapsody video as a child in the 70s, but I never thought that anyone could match him. I was listening to some older Queen records (yes, vinyl!) tonight and I actually felt really guilty about my Mika obsession! I'm trying to console myself with a quote that I read from someone else on this board who said that "Freddie would be proud" (he would also probably be gutted that Mika is so much better looking than him!)

Well. Was watching tv this morning. Not really watching, it was more background noise than anything. And then this brilliant voice comes on and immediately I have to listen. And it turns out to be this absolutely crazy singer called Mika. And well, thus is born my interest in this singer. So. That's why I'm here. Hi.
