Ooooh, thanks for this, I had missed it. He looks quite organized! I love suitcase photos. Must be so lovely to go for holidays after such busy times  I assume he has a few days off now?

Probably. It's his birthday in a couple of days.

Mine is today, but I'm a lot older than Mika,

:thumb_yello: Happy birthday Marilyn !!  I hope it's a really good one for you!  And Madonna was born some few years later - she's 57 y.o. today - I know it because two of my neighbours ( mother and son ) also have their birthdays today  :wink2:

I've already paid them a visit, and brought with me  jam, made of delicious cloudberries, which  I picked last week ... :teehee:  Unfortunately MIKA's too far away,  to get a taste :naughty:  But I'm sure he'll enjoy his Greece holiday,  and birthday on Tuesday... Very cute pic of his little nephew, btw - the little boy is lovely, just like his whole Penniman fam.  :)  It also looks like he'll have curls, like his uncle...

I've beaten Madonna. I'm 61. I've had a great time though. Went to the cinema with Alan yesterday, to see Pixels. It has a favourite actor of mine in it, Peter Dinklage. It was really good.

Then today I've been out for a meal with Alan, at our local Indian Restaurant. Had lamb Bhuna. It was lovely.

So its been a good weekend.

I hope our birthday boy enjoys his holiday, and his birthday, with his loved ones..

Mika's first tweet was referencing this poem - Warning by Jenny Joseph

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go, and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick flowers in other people's gardens
And learn to spit.

You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickle for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.

But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.

But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.

Love that poem. It inspired the Red Hat Club. Of which I will one day be a member. For now I shall wear pink and lavender as belies my relative youth...

Oh wait. If Mika says 32 is when you can start wearing those then I only have 2 months.

From the Vanity Fair Italia 2015 interview the interviewer said he saw Mika's boyfriend Andy in Mika's place to now Mika mentioned Andy himself in his tweet...I always knew that he's gonna talk about Andy this birthday! Hope Mika wasn't drunk (you know he was so secretive about it!!) or he's gonna regret what he did. Btw Andy is a genius, feeling jealous? XD Mika, you sure his gift is not the another 50%?

I knew he would mention him eventually. It was the natural progression of him becoming more open.

I don't think it's because he was drunk. He's been drunk lots of times and never mentioned him

They must have talked about it together and Andy must be okay with it. He was probably there when Mika did the tweet.

Maybe Andy was drunk to agree on it. :lmfao: anyway, no matter if drunk or not, i'm sure they both still knew what they were doing. ;) i like this new openness. :)

I reckoned he had had a few drinks because it was his birthday, he was tweeting in the middle of the night and called his partner a bastard. Nothing to do with naming names.

Anyway yes it is nice to see that he speaks freely instead of referring to his "Greek friend" who was watching the footy in Seoul. :naughty:
