krysady
I prefer the English version even if I like Mika singing in Italian. The story it's similar, but the lyrics are different, this readjustment transformed the genuine feeling of the song for me

Basically they don't like translation. They say they have ruined one of the best songs with a bad, ugly, horrible text and wonder who has been the author of the translation. 2
WeirdChild
From what i can gather on Twitter, people dont like the lyrics because tomorow is a lot more romantic than domani. Also a lot of italian fans are afraid he is going to sing domani instead of tomorow in italian promo and gigs.
ellie
The italian version sounds better to me - and I do understand the text, but I disliked the english lyrics a lot so Im not the best to judge

However, I like elle me dit more than emily. And I like the French version of staring at the sun more as well. But this Italian version doesn't catch me! But still it's nice to hear him sing in so many languages! 😊 I'm waiting for the magic day he'll sing a song in Dutch hahahahaha

I like the Italian version more than the English one, but maybe that's just cause I don't understand the lyrics... I wonder if it's the same story? Do they give reasons why they don't like it? I don’t write here so often..so I’m sorry, but I’d like to explain my personal opinion about this italian version. I try in some way to explain ..😅. I feel a little guilty because I’m one of those people that don’t like the italian version, because of the bad translation... I appreciate so much this gift in italian and I’m otherwise very grateful for this. I’ve always dreamed about an italian song sung by him, especially after Casamika where He sang some italian songs for the first time an he was very good. So when He was writing this new album I really hoped He would write an italian song with all my heart, but I have to be honest, this translation of Tomorrow is not the best thing I expected..☹️First of all because of the italian words that are very different from the original ones...and give to the song a different atmosphere ...only the word “domani” (tomorrow) sounds different..😢for me anyway..it’s my opinion. He sang very well in italian and his pronunciation is very very good, but it’s the translation that doesn’t work..😩, in general I don’t like very much the original texts translated in other languages because often they change the magic of the song. I know For a no native speaker this song maybe sounds so exotic because it’s in another language but for us is a bit different..and I’m very sorry for this, because He will sing it in the italian gig, I imagine ☹️But I love so much the English version!!!! At the end it’s ok..no drama but I’d have preferred another new song only in italian. I know that other italian fans think the same, but also there are many of them that like this version too. The album is so amazing, beautiful and moving ..I can forgive him..😂 5

Chris_14
I'm also among those who hope he will NOT sing the Italian version at gigs 😆 Not so much because of the translation, but rather because of the meter (if this is the right term) resulting. To my ears, it simply does not fit. Now, I am not an expert of musical composition, but I have always heard that writing songs in Italian is quite difficult from a technical point of view, because words are mainly stressed on their penultimate or antepenultimate syllables. There are obviously exceptions, but foreign songs translated into Italian always sound strange, because the music was not intended to accompany Italian words. I think it would have been different if he had composed a song conceived in Italian from the start. At least, this is my personal opinion. If he wants to sing it in Italian, I hope it will be only a little part, as he does for Stardust for example. Otherwise, I will miss the atmosphere of Tomorrow others talked about above. But in the end, he decides what to sing, so I will simply have to accept it 😃 Edited October 17, 2019 by Chris_14
crazyaboutmika
Domani is available in France 🎉 I found those lyrics and translation on google Are they correct? Domani should have its own thread maybe? Maybe not so "naughty" as original version Just one thing - in your translation it should be " I'll try to find an excuse", right?

The same with Beautiful Trauma by Pink, they just removed the swear words in the clean version and the gaps in the lyrics sound so strange. And then they play songs like Whistle by Florida which is really disgusting but no one cares. Edited October 22, 2019 by giraffeandy
