dcdeb Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 Mika revealed another song today in an interview on Radio Monte Carlo. It's a duet with Jack Savoretti, called Ready to Call This Love. You can hear it at around 2:05:00 here: https://www.radiomontecarlo.net/audio/due-come-noi/50017/mercoledi-dalle-10-00-alle-13-00.html Here are the lyrics, best as I can tell: I'm afraid of the world Losing love in the dark Every time that I move too fast I fall apart But I think you're the same And I know that you're scared Think too much of the end and we will never start We still sleep with the light on So afraid it'll go wrong Take your time if you need it But don't wait when you know you feel it And you're ready to call, ready to call this love Don't speak if you don't believe it But please say those words if you mean it And you're ready to call, ready to call this love I don't know what to say That's unusual for me First step is the hardest one you'll ever take You can't see sparks with the light on Let's be brave turn the light off Take your time if you need it But don't wait when you know you feel it And you're ready to call, ready to call this love Don't speak if you don't believe it But please say those words if you mean it And you're ready to call, ready to call this love Are you ready yet Are you ready yet Are you ready to call this love Ready to call ready to call this love Are you ready yet Are you ready yet Are you ready to call this love Ready to call ready to call this love Take your time if you need it But don't wait when you know you feel it And you're ready to call, ready to call this love Are you ready to call this love Take your time if you need it But don't wait when you know you feel it And you're ready to call, ready to call this love Don't speak if you don't believe it But please say those words if you mean it And you're ready to call, ready to call this love Are you ready to call, ready to call this love Are you ready? What do you think of this beautiful ballad? 9 1 2

It is such a beautiful song indeed, I know I love it ( much more than Youth And Love, tbh ) Their voices are great together, I hope it will get to be played a lot on radios! 1
Presci1108 Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 My feelings about this song ? I think I'm ready to call this love… 2
John Alan Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 i love it...from what we've heard to far, there's not a single bad on on this album
mellody Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 Thanks Deb for the lyrics. I like it a lot more than Youth & Love. It also has this 80s vibe to it, but I like Jack's voice more on this one - his voice is very different from Mika's, and on the other song it bothers me, because you can strongly hear the difference. In this one it's not that huge, it fits better together imo. Also, Youth & Love was written by Jack, and I think this one was written by both, or just Mika? Do we know? Generally I'm not too much into love ballads atm - just yesterday I heard a ballad on the radio which I used to love ("Sea of love"), and I still think it's ok but I can't 'bath' in it like I used to. Maybe because my life with 2 kids is more hectic than romantic atm. That's why I hope there won't be that many of such slow songs on the CD. Which is funny, because I used to say that Mika should do more ballads. I think I like it about as much as San Remo. I certainly agree that so far there's no song on the album that I don't like! 1
Anna Ko Kolkowska Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 Such a beautiful song! And a next song from the album which is soooo different from the others. Each song we already know are like gems. Each is different, beautiful but make a part of one neckless. Now when I see the cover of the album with a hand and planets (and geese ) I can tell that the songs are like different planets of the same system. They turning around one SUN - MIKA 3
Irem Aytepe Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 I was waiting this duet because Youth and Love was masterpiece. Their voice so fit together This song is sooo soft i love it 4
Anna Ko Kolkowska Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 Do you remember this video from Instagram? The end.... Jack sounds like a beer man and Mika? twitter_20190704_201714.mp4 4
Dominika Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 It is such a nice song and so pleasent for ears. Their voices are so different but they sound remarkable together! I like what you say @Anna Ko Kolkowska about planets. I was thinking the same when singles were coming out. Each song is different, musically, emotionally but it's like rainbow after rain. This album is going to be huuuge! Can't wait till Friday! 😍 3
silver Posted October 6, 2019 Posted October 6, 2019 Having listened to this song, I like the way their voices complement each other. I also think that this is a song that other artists are going to want to cover, whether as duets or solo voices. 6

This song reminds me of Pick up off the floor but less cynical, I dont get the feeling theyre singing at each other but about a broken hearted friend.
MatanBenYosef224 Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 Another review - I Don't understand why the writer don't like this track. Here is a part about RTCTL, translated into english https://www.maxazine.nl/2019/10/07/mika-my-name-is-michael-holbrook/ On the album there is a terrible mistake, which may have been forced upon him by the record company. There is a duet with no one less than Jack Savoretti, the crooner-lossball whose music I described earlier as the perfect soundtrack of the 70s soft porn film 'Emmanuele Nera'. Savoretti is pushed and promoted in such a way that it is almost suspicious. The man was crazy about Pinkpop this year. Fortunately, that went by quite unnoticed. The song is called 'Ready to call this Love'. Horrifying to hear, and incomprehensible that Savoretti is being promoted here too. Fortunately we can fast forward and then we come to 'Cry', another beautiful typical Mika song with a nice electronic groove and beautiful vocals. 1

Doesn't seem like the proper place for them to express their obvious dislike of him I'm just glad they don't hate Mika that much! Edited October 7, 2019 by kreacher 2

Ehh.. the forced marketing around Jack is pretty obvious

Well, let me tell you: He’s a really good looking guy. (Laughs.) He’s charming. He’s like an old-fashioned movie star, but in a 30-something-year-old body. Is that what appealed to you about him when you chose your male duet partner? His voice. Firstly, the fact that he didn’t even bat an eyelid at the fact that it was a love song and it didn’t even come up in conversation. He was just like, “It’s really beautiful.” That was it. “I’d love to do this, it’s really beautiful, full stop.” And then the fact that his voice is such a contrast to mine and all that, and when you consider that he’s a married guy and he’s got a kid, it was just a no-brainer for him. People are gonna say, “Why didn’t Mika pick a gay duet partner?” And I’m gonna say, “Well, why not?” That’s it. That’s really all I can say. Because it’s beautiful. And I was asked this, actually, in an interview a week ago for a major gay website in Europe and I said, “Have you done interviews with heterosexual couples who have done duets? Girl and guy?” He said, “Yeah.” I said, “Did you ever ask them if they were ever actually in a relationship or if they actually wanted to be in a relationship with each other? If they actually found each other attractive?” So I said, “What’s the difference between two guys?” He said, “Oh yeah, you’ve got a good point.” I said, “Considering you’re coming from a gay website, don’t you think you should’ve thought about that beforehand?” There’s a real push for LGBTQ roles to go to LGBTQ actors, and some people feel the same when it comes to music, especially since duets between two men happen so infrequently. And I completely respect that. If anything, I really like and I respect that opinion, and I love the fact that a song like this can even provoke a question like that. I think that’s a good thing. It’s a good conversation to have. It’s not like, “Oh, is the song cool or not?” It’s nothing to do with that. It’s, “Should I have had a gay guy or not with me?” I think that’s a really good dialogue to provoke. Could you have even released a song like this at the beginning of your career? Would that have been allowed? Allowed? I don’t know. I would like to say that it would’ve been allowed. But it’s hard to imagine it would’ve happened. That’s the most diplomatic answer I can come up with. And you know what, besides, I would’ve given songs to my partner to sing, but the truth is that Andy sings like a donkey so it would’ve sounded like s**t. The only thing he knows how to sing are Morrissey songs because there’s only one or two notes in them! (Wickedly, playfully laughs.) And on that note, I’ll let you go to bed. (Laughs.) And on that note, he’s gonna kill me. Funny this article should come out today as just this morning i was listening to the song, thinking to myself "awww what a sweet love song, I wish Andy was singing it with Mika instead". Seeing Mika say this though...... meh, i still wanna hear him sing it with Andy, they can just use studio magic to make Andy sound better 1 2
mellody Posted October 7, 2019 Posted October 7, 2019 I just noticed that when I'm in the right mood for this song, I can add it to my (huge) list of faves from this album - it's simply beautiful. 2

To me that makes more sense with the next line I was just coming here to say this! I agree, Dee, "can't" makes much more sense. It's hard to hear in the recording, so hopefully Mika will do this live soon and we'll be able to hear better. 2
