It's strange to think Mika will host the Eurovision after watching it for years as a kid. 😁 He is everywhere!!! ❤️ If he ever shows his resume to anyone it would need to come as a book with maaaany pages 😂

Hear, hear! My friends and I have been dreaming of going to Eurovision for years ... and if other life plans hadn't gotten in the way THIS would be the year! So excited to watch nonetheless. :)

It's going to be so interesting to see Mika as a co-host. I'm excited to see the part he'll play.

I won't be watching the entire contest just because of Mika though. I'm not a fan of Eurovison at all. I've just never got into it and I've never understood why some people represent a country their not from :dunno:

A lot of acts just come across as a novelty and I seriously think it's about time the UK pull out of the competition

(nul points almost every year! ), there have only been two times I've liked an act. 2013 Gianluca Bezzina with "Tomorrow" and last year I fell in love with Måneskin!

Maybe Mika will perform one of his own songs in between the acts but I'd rather he didn't enter the competition himself in the future!

I've never watched Eurovision before and, to be honest, I've never had an interest in it... until now, that is. Needless to say, I'll be watching this year!

Personally, I'm happy about the announcement. I'm sure he'll be such a charming presenter and it might even introduce him to new fans.

What exciting news! Eurovision was a very big thing for me when I was a kid, but I haven't followed it that regularly in the recent years (except last year when I fell in love with Maneskin as @TinyLove_CJ said ) Needless to say, I've got to watch it this year! So excited, so many feelings :wub2:

OK, so I have a few thoughts about this:

1) I'd never even heard of Eurovision until I came across it while I was researching Sanremo for a story I wrote last year.

2) My subsequent exposure to the Eurovision phenomenon was through watching the Will Ferrell / Rachel McAdams movie. Not sure how representative the movie actually is of the ESC, but it was certainly enjoyable to watch, even while it poked fun at the whole thing. :D

3) Hosting Eurovision seems like kind of a perfect experiment for Mika. Big and theatrical in presentation, but also somewhat homegrown in feel and directed toward a multicultural audience. I'm probably not going to watch it all the way through (definitely not in the right time zone for that!), but I agree that it's a good way for Mika to get more exposure to potential fans. Especially if Graham Norton is involved - I've always enjoyed the celebrity interviews on his show, and I'm sure his commentary is just as engaging. :)

I really love this smart slim-fit look on him, I personally think it suits him best.  I am very curious wat Pierpaolo will come up with for him for the ESC and am of course very excited to see him on tv in May.

He will acquire a lot of new fans. Who could resist the charms of such a dashing gentleman? :wink2:

I am happy as least for one reason:

Mika will be watched on Polish TV - which is very important for Polish audience/fans/music business area.

It's easy to complain for French or Italian fans (there is a part) when they have Mika on almost daily basis.

This is a situation when Mika can be watched in over 40 countries which - except I love Beirut concert - the biggest audience ever.

Good opportunity to show Mika's charm and many other skills like languages, cooperation with other hosts (which is not easy at all), management of live broadcast and who knows what else.

I used to watch finals of Eurovision. This time I will watch all 3 evenings :wink2:

I think I feel similarly. It's wild to think we'll have Mika on our television (in Serbia) when that has never happened before (as far as I know :wink2:). It feels quite big to think he will be watched from so many countries. Wow!

Ha ha ha! And all this happens actually before his European leg of For The Rite of Spring tour!!!!

How much can the MFC Fourm actually take? We don't want it to crash in May because of an onslaught of fans. :naughty:
