Here we are, I'll translate litteraly, it could sound funny...:

Lady GaGa ha fatto un errore: strombazzare ai quattro venti di aver inciso un disco di art pop con la copertina realizzata da un artista di pop art. Banale e superficiale"

Lady Gaga made a mistake: she blared to the four winds to have made an art pop cd with a pop artist made cover. Banal and superficial".

Yes, she made this huge announcement about how great her new album was going to be, which I think turned a lot of people off. And this was the sense I got from when he was talking about her in the Vanity Fair Q & A. He was saying something about using vulgarity in art as being OK, but using it to gain attention was not appropriate. But he stressed he would not say anything bad about her and that he she gave one of the best concerts he'd ever seen years ago, on the stage by herself.

last question and answer:

Q. Will we see you back at X Factor next year?

A. I haven't changed X-factor and X-Factor hasn't changed me. I'll be doing my mad things in the future, I've received some offers from France and the UK too, where I'd like to make music documentaries that no one will want to produce. But it's for sure that if X-Factor does not cross my plans, I WILL BE THERE.

Now I strongly hope they have misinterpreted him here as well!!!!

:overreact:

he explicitly mentions his record i think? google translate says "Of course, if the next edition of X Factor will not overlap commitments to my record I'll be there" - so at least it means that the record is his priority, doesn't it? :wink2: and i hope this includes promoting it with press appearances and a tour. :teehee:

I think he probably has to say that he'd do X Factor again -- but I'm willing to bet he already knows what he's doing next year, even if we don't find out about things until a month before they happen. It's safe for him to say he'd do X Factor, since he knows that he probably can't. :dunno:

easy money and celebrity can persuade anyone, and I'm pretty sure he likes doing X-Factor :mf_rosetinted:

not sure he's ready to launch a one wonder album instead :mf_rosetinted:

i still think music is his priority and i believe him about releasing an album next year. yes, it might not have looked like that with all his "side projects" this year, but i think he has earned enough money with it now so he has the freedom again that he wants for his music. relating to what he wrote in the latest xl column, i'm sure he knows what he prostitutes himself for, what his price is, and where it is time to stop. anyway i trust him that he does. :teehee:

Yes, I totally agree with you Karin :thumb_yello: I'm sure he knows what he is doing and where his limits are, he has talked about this issue several times already and pointed out how making music is his priority and made it clear that all this gives him more freedom with his own music. He must have thought it through and decided it's worth it. He sounds very determined atm, I'm very curious what he has planned for the next year.

I hope they got it DEAD RIGHT! The bit about the UK I mean!

Please Mika, I'm on my bad knees, begging for something in Mikaless Britain.

It's time they realised, in the UK, that there's someone much more talented and much better looking than Gary Barlow, and Mika, it's you.

hey, gary barlow IS talented! :shun: ok i haven't heard his new stuff, but he has written some fantastic songs for take that... and he's probably a better piano player than mika. you're right about the looks tho. :teehee: but i hope that both of them can be successful in the uk. :wink2:

yes, i think mika criticized her new album or something, and they must have interpreted this wrongly in the way that he knows more about pop than she does. maybe they even meant it as a compliment to him? - anyway, i don't think they lied on purpose.

You don't need to be a pop expert to see something went wrong there.:naughty:

Yes she called it the album of the millenium. She also called her previous album the soundtrack of this generation, but it didn't do well at all. Lady Gaga is a brilliant artist but after the Fame Monster she just lost direction. There is not only vulgarity in her promotion, but basically the songs on artpop are about nothing more than sex and being famous. People can't relate to that. Also, photoshoots like this aren't art anymore, just porn: http://www.lapatilla.com/site/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Lady-Gaga-V-Magazine-Part-Deux-6.jpg (warning, contains nudity:naughty:)

Well, at the party he hinted about the UK so who knows.

He also said many times that he would base himself in Milan so he could work on his music during X Factor. But unless he has written an album in the 10 minute taxi rides between the studio and the airport and the train stations and the radio stations and the Swatch shops it doesn't seem very likely does it? :dunno:

What kind of commitments is he going to have for a new album? TOOL was released in October and it was all over before Christmas, aside from another 3 weeks in NA the following spring. Why would he need to give up both TV shows for that? As I said it has been a long time since Mika has made this his number one priority. Since mid-2010 IMO.

It seems to me that Mika is far happier with this life of doing this and that and has no interest in devoting a couple of years to a music project anymore. I think he just has to walk a fine line here and keep his toe in the (music) water because no one would have asked him to design a watch or star on a TV show if he wasn't a famous musician. I think that's why he keeps a presence in the US as well even though he is not serious about pursuing a pop career there. He probably wants to sell songs to TV, movies, etc. and has more vsibility than other songwriters because he is a pop star.

Anyway we'll see but I am not waiting for a miracle.

I disagree with that. He let a statement stand for 3 years where it was strongly implied he was bisexual. And he more or less coroborrated it in several other statements after the fact when it was clear to him how the initial statement had been interpreted.

And that's just one example. We had discussions here that went on for a good year about what his real name is because he could not even be clear about that. :naughty:

What do you mean, "real name"? It's Michael, and always have been...

Unless I've spent the last 2 years obsessing someone who his name I didn't even know :naughty:

I DON'T want to see him on X Factor here, I want to see him doing something much more musically meaningful.

I don't think he would do the UK version, as he hasn't exactly been very complimentary about it in some interviews.

If he is going to do music documentaries, I would like to see him do something for the Propective series on ITV, Imagine on BBC1, the Culture Show on BBC2, or even though I don't have Sky, something for Sky Arts.

This would be much more rewarding than the shallowness of the reality talent shows he is doing now.

2 years ago is just about when he started to explain his name in a clear fashion.

before that, it was always a bit of an enigma. his stories were never 100% clear.

You know, it's funny, I know he's gotten really popular for the last few months, with Ariana and XF but I just can't think of him as a "star", it doesn't feel right, idk :aah: Every time I see him in a fancy suit behind the judges desk, I can't help but remember the first documentry he made, when he performed in Milan for the first time, and said: "WOW, 3,000! that'll be my biggest audience ever!"

I have no idea what was I trying to say, I tend to get lost with my words :blush-anim-cl:

He used to say his real name was Mica and there was no reliable source to confirm it was actually Michael. It was all over news articles, but all you need is one person to get their facts wrong and it propagates all over the internet and becomes "a fact" even to traditional media. There was discussion even between editors on Wikipedia about it for quite some time. In the early days Mika would not even mention his last name in interviews. He was just Mika who changed his name from Mica because people mispronounced Mica. :naughty:

Even if Mika is really gung-ho about album #4 I'm just not sure how that is going to preclude a second stint on X Factor. He could never consider doing a TV show like this in 2007 because he was in massive demand and was promoting his album and touring non stop. On August 10, 2007 he was triple booked - a festival in Canada, a festival in Scandinavia, a TV show in the US. Those days are long past. He's not Justin Bieber or Katy Perry. He will not be going on extensive world tours, even if he wanted to.

Also doesn't it say in the article he is keeping the house in Milan? I know he likes Milan and everything but he loves millions of places. I think he is keeping it because he sees a very real possibility of staying on and doesn't want to have to move all his personal effects back to the UK and then have to try to find a new house later.

Yes it is very strange for me too. I have always lived in a world where Mika is not a star. Many of the gigs I've been to have been less than 1000 people. My first gig was just a couple of weeks before the Milan show he talks about and it was 600 people.

Yeah, he said there it was 600 at first, and then 2,000 something and they kept changing the venue and they finally closed it with 3K (:

Also, I used to walk around, talking about Mika and people did not know who he was! Now, they're like "oh, yes, Mika, of course I've heard of him". What happened to "Mika? what's Mika?"
