I apologize for any typos, misinformation, broken links, and omissions. Please, please tell me if you find something that’s wrong. Many translations into English are done by Google Translate. If you find a particularly poor translation, please let me know what it should say!!!

Spoiler

BORN: May 5, 1988 in London

NATIONALITY: British

FULL NAME/ALSO KNOWN AS: Adele Laurie Blue Adkins

ADDITIONAL BIO: She graduated from the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology in 2006, and got a recording contract the same year. She has since won several Brit Awards, at least one Academy Award, at least one Golden Globe Award, numerous Grammy Awards, Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards, Ivor Novello Awards, and many others. She is proficient in guitar, drums, bass, and piano.

OTHER APPEARANCES WITH MIKA: - They were interviewed together backstage at the 2008 Brit Awards ceremony and Perez Hilton posted pictures of them together at a party afterward. Mika was photographed out on the town in London with her in August 2008 when they had dinner at Zuma in Knightsbridge before going to Soho House for drinks.

QUOTES: ---When asked in a February 2010 interview with musictalk4u.com, Mika said "I’m friends with Adele, the singer. She’s another strong woman and her own creation."

---On October 4, 2010 Mika tweeted "Watching Xfactor with Adele and the dogs. Just burned the food after hearing Any Other World and Happy Ending one after another. Lol".

---According to a February 2008 article from The Sun at a London Fashion Week party Adele said that at the Brit Awards ceremony: "I wanted to wear a flamboyant dress and dance on the table as Mika sung ‘Big Girl’".

---In an October 2009 interview with Dutch magazine Veronica Mika said, "A little time ago I stole something, by the way. I was at a gas station and there was a lifestyle magazine about dogs and stuff, with a bag of dog food stuck on the cover. I secretly took the bag with me. I wanted to give it to Adele, she is a friend and she has a weenie dog, a dachshund. But she did not want them to have it when she heard that I had nicked it!"

---In an interview with Heat magazine in November 2008 she said, "I met him [Mika] at the Brit Awards. Just after I'd picked up my award he'd won best breakthrough we were on live TV bit with Fearne Cotton who was giving the numbers out to phone in for Single Of The Year. I was going ‘Oh, number one for ‘Bleeding Love’. Oh no, number two for ‘Valerie’. No, number two for ‘Foundations’…’ and when it came to number four which was his I didn't say anything and he was like ‘Oh you bitch!’ We've been friends ever since. I do love him very much".

---On BBC Radio 2’s ‘Mika: The Art Of Song’ radio show on New Year's Day 2016 Mika said, "Great interpreters, great writers, I mean, at the moment it is the reigning moment for Adele and I have to tell you there was for me a huge turning point in Adele’s career, I’ve known her for quite a long time and I’ve admired her from right the beginning and she put out ‘Chasing Pavements’, she put out her first album and I was actually on tour in the middle of a drive, I think it was in Estonia, I turn on the radio and I hear ‘Make You Feel My Love’ and I completely freaked out, I couldn’t believe how good this song was and how good she sounded on it. I sent her a text message, I said ‘I love your new single’ and she sent me a message back saying ‘Oh, thanks. Bob Dylan likes it a lot, he says it’s the second best version he ever heard, after his’ and that’s how I discovered, even though I’m hosting right now on Radio 2 and you’re listening to a show called ‘The Art of Song’, where I’m supposed to be telling you about all the best songs from rock and pop history, I didn’t know that this was a Bob Dylan song, I guess some things just slip you by." After he played her version, Mika said, "I really wonder where she got the idea to sing that song, whoever… whoever had the idea was genius because it’s just absolutely stunning, it’s a stunning record, honestly one of my favourite vocal recordings ever, ever made."

---On BBC2’s Tracks Of My Years on May 30, 2016 Mika played her song "Hometown Glory" and said, "I think that there’s a couple songs that changed the path of Adele’s career. And ‘Hometown Glory’ is one of them. I mean it’s easy to say it’s something like ‘Chasing Pavements’ was the breakthrough but it wasn’t, it was a breakthrough from a radio point of view and from a commercial point of view, but the other songs that pulled it much closer to her complicated, and quite beautiful story that she has had already at such a young age and the maturity that she has to describe her emotions. She’s so emotionally intelligent. She’s not someone who’s the most well-read person in the world but when she speaks she does it like this kind of likewise, zen Buddhist kind of like--[laughs] She has a sense of perspective and you feel reassured and I think that’s what's so nice about this song."

OTHER WORKS: Her studio albums are 19 (2008), 21 (2011), 25 (2015), and 30 (2021).

Åhlund, Klas - Swedish songwriter, record producer, and guitarist. On the album The Origin Of Love he co-produced and co-programmed "Elle Me Dit", "Emily", and "Overrated". He co-produced and did percussion programming on the album version of "Boum Boum Boum". On Mika’s repertoire.sacem.fr/ listing it says Klas co-wrote the song "L O V E" with Mika, but nothing more is known about this song. He is the founding member of the Swedish rock band Teddybears. As a songwriter and producer he has worked with artists such as Robyn, Sugababes, Ke$ha, Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears, Melody Club, Katy Perry, and Madonna

-In a German Interview with Piranha magazine from October 2012 Mika spoke of Klas: "It's funny, because we are getting along well. I think we have a similar humour, I think he is very, very funny. Because he is sitting there, with his long beard, and he… is wasting little energy. But he is doing all these different things, so much different kinds of music, I love that!" ~ At the French press conference at Parc Eana Normandie France on July 20, 2012 Mika said: "And then for production I went to see a Swedish producer who speaks some English but no French at all, and he heard the song and said 'oh it's cool' but for him the song means something completely different. So he put his interpretation on the song like Elle Me Dit, he didn't understand one single word. The masterised version for the single was spelt on our system as 'Ellmudet'. That's how he wrote the title of the song. And then Greg Wells added something else, a more organic sound, Klas Ahlund was more on electronic sounds, in the mixing I then choose a bit more, and at the end we have this product."

A man with multiple talents who becomes someone else when he gets on a stage dressed up in his showman glitter suit. Mika is naturally playful with a touch of genuine courtesy. At the same time a bit of the British gentleman phlegm and an Oriental piercing eye which sees everything, Mika is a star, but when I take pics of him, I see a conquering child with a serious look in his eyes as if one had to climb on top of all peaks in the world because life is too short and that time plays with us."

---On December 22, 2019 Nikos instagrammed a photo of Mika performing that evening at AccorHotels Arena captioned in French with: "From the great, the very great @mikainstagram tonight on stage. Songwriter Mika is also a charismatic showman who fills the space with light and joy. A packed house, and Mika on the wire, reaching out, balancing over the abyss. Sometimes Icarus, sometimes Béjart, the artist raises the body and the voice in a total gift of his person. No more hell, no more Paradise, just a world where everyone is himself because he loves without posture and without blinkers. The energy for sharing, with the hip sway of a @mickjagger and the arena instinct of an @georgemofficial is what it means to be #Pop in 2020... or almost 2020. Proud to have seen him again on stage. Bravo my friend Mika, you are unique. #instanikos #revelationtour."

QUOTES: ---In Vanity Fair Italia May 2015 Mika said, "In the album there's a track, 'All She Wants', about a woman who only has a wish: 'A different son from the one she has'. Does it talk about my mother? Of course. I'm referring to how I felt when I was a kid, the feeling that to her, it would have been easier to have another kind of son and the suspicion that she was focusing her hopes on my brother, dreaming that at least him, would one day marry a nice Lebanese girl. When my mother listened to the song she liked it a lot, but we never talked about it, we never speak about such topics. Songs are there to talk about things you don't say in another way."

---In June/July 2015 Winq magazine Mika explained each song and said this song is "about how terrified I was of what my mother would think about a son who wasn't 'normal'."

---In a June 10, 2015 Italian interview with Sky Uno Mika said, "'All She Wants' is a sort of coming-out. But not a sexual coming out, which certainly is not something interesting, but an existential coming-out, a metaphorical exit from the shell in which for years I have been trapped. When you come from a family to fifty percent Lebanese is all more complicated. Speaking of myself, of my feelings, of love (both when the heart is full of joy and when it is disintegrated by the pain) was difficult, until a few years ago I would never have done it."

---In NEXT magazine June 12, 2015 Mika said: "I look at my mother; she would never really want to change me, ever but you see that little modicum of doubt that things might have been nice also to have a little bit of convention, a little bit of the format, things rolling themselves out the way they're supposed to when you have a baby boy. And that's not a negative thing to say. I think it's very kind if you can turn something negative into something playful, and dismantle that potential negative bomb by addressing it with such a candid attitude. That's what I'm trying to do in that. In the same way l write songs about the person I would like to be as opposed to the person I am, or the imaginary person as opposed to the real one, I think that l write about the things people are afraid to say. In one way it is a little brutal and in the other it's one of the most tender songs on the album, because of the melody and the way the chorus is really tender and really heartfelt. There's a Beatles' sweetness to it-but then the lyric is just brutal."

-In a February 2007 interview the interviewer asked her "Mika is getting popular here, and I know he’s massive in the U.K. right now. Do you have an opinion about him?" and Lily answered: "I haven’t heard much of his stuff. I’ve only heard the one song that’s on the radio in the U.K., which is called ‘Grace Kelly’. I like that; I think it’s all right." ~ During the 4th episode of Cooking With Mika on instagram he played Lily Allen's "Alfie" and afterward said: "I love that song. You know, that Lily Allen song called ‘Alfie’ is about her brother and I remember hearing that for the first time and it was Greg Kurstin who’s the guy who wrote it and produced it with her, who then went on to become a major, major hitmaker. UPDATED! Amira - Mika and Andreas Dermanis’s second golden retriever gun dog, AKA Sharky. She was born February 17, 2015 and they got her in March or April 2015. She's Melachi's niece. She is less reddish than Melachi and around the same size (if not slightly larger). She was trained by dog trainer Buzz Kennard and her husband, Dave. The dogs often go to stay with them in England when not with Mika and/or Andy, and they post many photos of her and Mel on their instagram. Andy’s friend Adam Goodall also frequently takes care of them when Mika is travelling. In an October 15, 2019 interview on France 5’s Passage Des Arts Mika said he’d recently gotten the news that she is slowly going blind.

Spoiler

HER NAME: her name is pronounced "uh-meer-uh". According to Wikipedia the term "Amira" may refer to "an Arabic and Hebrew female given name" or a "title for nobility and princesses in Arabic. The feminine of amir / emir meaning ‘prince’." Her nickname is Sharky, apparently because she bites.

APPEARANCES: on Mika’s seasons of X Factor Italia and on The Voice France; in many of Mika’s photos, videos, and stories on instagram and twitter; and on the "Portrait: Le Monde de Mika" documentary on France2’s Envoyé Spécial which aired in January 2016. At Mika’s gig in Pistoia, Italy on July 5, 2016 Amira came onstage during "Lollipop". Mika carried her offstage, and seemed unhappy about it, saying something like ‘Whoever did that, I’m gonna f**king kill you’ when he came back to his microphone. She appeared in all four episodes in both seasons of Mika’s TV show Stasera Casa Mika.

She is seven months old and she is a monster."

---It snowed in Athens on February 17, 2021 and Mika tweeted: "A magical sight and a huge beautiful hug during these times. The dogs liked it too... 😉 by the way it’s Sharky’s 6th birthday today 🥳🥶😍❄️ #Athens #happybirthdaySharky."
